The hosts were perfect, the food great, the rooms clean and the decor interesting.

La Casa Anita is a B&B in the well preserved center of San Miguel, a 5 minute walk from the central square, occupying a 17th century house in which all rooms open onto the central courtyard. The family who own the B&B run it and live on the premises. Antonio and Maru are friendly, immensely helpful, knowledgeable persons. The room we had was quiet, capacious, well furnished, and very clean. Breakfasts were sumptious and ample. And fellow guests proved to be interesting and charming companions.
We definitely recommend Casa Anita to anyone who is more impressed with quality than with glitter.

Casa Anita is in a great location several blocks from the Jardin. Antonio and Maru are very welcoming and helpful. Antonio has good information on local restaurants. He is eager to talk with guests and help them in little ways, like finding them a cold drink on a hot afternoon. He also is prompt with requests for a taxi and went out to flag one down a couple of blocks away for us. Maru is a fine cook and very pleasant; the dining room is particularly pretty and inviting. The courtyard is large but we didn't see anyone use it much, perhaps because it gets the afternoon sun. There is a large umbrella table there. The rooms are simple and adequate. Daily cleaning service is minimal and our room had quite a bit of dust. All in all, Casa Anita is a good value for the price, especially given its location.

I just returned this week. Couldn't be happier with my choice. Excellent location, beautiful room and the best hosts. Do yourself a favor and just book your stay here. You will be very pleased you did.
