This is a beautiful property, a short 15 minute walk downhill and a $3 cab back from downtown. (There's a shuttle theoretically, which never seemed to be available). Super lush manicured hacienda in the hills, great views, relaxing, etc.
The property is otherwise horribly dated.
Services aren't explained in either English or Spanish (ie, how does breakfast work, where is it, the shuttle schedule, etc.). The beds were extremely hard, and original bedding from 1971. No alarm clocks in the room or any amenities whatsoever. Couldn't even find a vending machine. The hotel gets locke dup in the evening and you have to bang to get let in.
On a busy weekend in town, we felt like we were the only guests.
As is everywhere in San Miguel, there are a lot of fireworks on the weekend. The noise is exacerbated though, by the fact that all that separates your bed from the outside is a wall of glass windows.
Pool is unheated and was dirty.
Overall, is fine, but would try one of the places in downtown or splurge on one of the nicer haciendas
