I had done tons of research on places to stay in San Miguel. I wanted the bed and breakfast, small inn feel w/o the mandatory breakfast. That is jus what I got at this great place. When we arrived they coudln't find my reservation. But they were great and gave us a room right away and told us they would square us away later and not to worry. We were given a choice of where we wanted to stay and we opted for a bedroom on the first floor with a shared private patio. II fell in love with the Mexican decor..It felt like a home, not a hotel. The property was clean and full of light. We had breakfast there one day and it was good...but we opted to have eat out mostly since there are soo many great restaurants to try out. I totally understand why Americans fall in love with this town. Whatever you do...don't look at the real estate section..otherwise you might never come back :-)

Having always rented homes in SMA, we were curious about how we would like the hotel/B&B experience. This is a good value for the location and the included breakfast and dinner. The rooms are clean and light (rooms 5, 12, 13, 14) and have privacy. This is an old building, so don't expect glitz! Ruth Hyba is the owner and manager, and, at some 90 years old, is an inspiration! This is a good place to meet people, so if you come alone, or are looking to meet other couples, this is the place. On Sunday there is breakfast and comida, the mid-day meal, with musicians included. The inn is at the entrance to Parque Jaurez and about three blocks from the main square.

I just returned from an eighteen days vacation at 'La Mansion del Bosque', San Miguel de Allende.
I found the hostess Ruth to be courteous ,hospitable and gracious . The Inn is very well located , colorful and very clean. Beautiful flowers surround you.
The food was very well prepared.
I also would like to mention that I found the staff to be polite and very helpful.
I really enjoyed my stay at the "Mansion" and I will be happy to use this facility in my future travels.

Just returned from a stay in SMdA. Stayed at Mansion del Bosque for six nights. It was great! The B&B is within a short walking distance of Jardin and many other areas. Ruth (the owner) is the grand dame of the house and runs an efficient operation.

The property is vey pretty and you can get just enough privacy. Many of the guests were returnees, both to SMdA and to Mansion. We loved the repartee with the other guests. On New Years Eve, Ruth had a band come and play traditional Mexican music prior to the luncheon.

My wife is planning to stay at Mansion in the spring during her next visit to the home that we are buliding.
