Recently my wife spent two weeks at Casa Aparicio .This was our first visit to Casa Aparicio, it will not be our last. It is a comfortable well kept facility with beautifully maintained outside areas.

Since we were visiting San Miguel for the sixth time we were familiar with the city. Our search for accommodations was initially concentrated on finding a convenient location. The quest was rewarded when we founf Casa Aparicio. It is a comfortable, downhill,ten minute walk from the Jardin which is the geographical and cultural center of the city.



The highlight of our visit was meeting Pat , the woman that owns the facility. She was gracious, accommodating and helpful. She responded quickly and efficiently to our needs or requests. Her friendliness made us feel like guests in her home.

Everything about Casa de Aparicio says stay longer, relax more. Everywhere I looked was another planter filled with colorful flowers, or a tiny sculpture tucked in a corner. I stayed in Casita # 1 which was a perfect size and carefully decorated to say that I was an important guest. Of course being within walking distance to the colonial downtown area was an added plus. Our hostess, Pat, was welcoming and had great ideas for restaurants and adventures - like the guided ATV tour - yes, this 70 year old had her own ATV, stories of the adventure experience I definitely shared with my grandchildren. Great city, great location, great place to stay.

My casita was one of five small apartments located about four short blocks from the center of town. Pat, the owner lives in the sixth apartment and is around most of the time, but certainly not in the way. She is warm, has a good sense of humor. The furnishings are in good taste, and my bed was particularly comfortable, better than my mattress at home. Also, the place is reasonably priced. I was there for two months and felt right at home.

We stayed in #5, and we loved every second of it. The kitchen, in particular was extraordinary since over the course of 2 months I did a fair amount of cooking.

The decor was beyond wonderful! Comfortable, unique Mexican tile work, 4 poster bed and the colors were both bright and soothing. Pat (the owner) has a real designer's touch.

There is every convenience nearby (as in within 1 block) -- hairdresser, 2 small groceries; within 2 blocks is the big farm market and the artisan market, great food, ice cream shop, 3 bakeries, 2 laundries, 2+ pharmacies.

And you're just a 5 - 7 minute walk to the very heart of town, El Jardin. It's even flat (for San Miguel).

We loved the whole experience.
