We were excited about the description of this place that we found online (and in Rough Guides) - clean and friendly; hippy atmosphere; vegetarian food. But we were disappointed. The staff were miserabe, cranky and unhelpful. Breakfast was not actually included as no one was up before 9am. The room was dirty, and the caretaker kept trying to charge us extra money for things (kayak rentals, bike rentals, phone calls).
I would suggest travellers heading to Tulum (which I recommend, as the beach is beautiful), to check out some of the other resorts. The whole strip is lined with similiar, cabana style hotels, that, when breakfast is included, would probably work out to being a bit cheaper.
The cenote at the back of this place is nice, as are the big blue crabs that dig holes everywhere - the reasons why I didn't list this place as terrible.
