There are two things that make this place special: location and people. Smack right in the middle of the Tulum beach with all rooms having either direct access to the beach from patio doors or balcony overlooking the beech, the location cannot be better. The staff working there are pleasant and smily, although almost none of them speak any English (so bring your phrase book, if you are like me, Spanish-deficient:). They are lovely though and very hard working, keeping the place clean and well-groomed.
Now, there are two things that I would be tempted to change: showers and beds. The bathrooms definitely need to be upgraded. I can understand the salty water, but the actual shower stalls and handles and such served its lifetime. I find the bed very uncomfortable and hard. Had difficulty getting good night sleep and this may be the sole reason why I am unlikely to return to this hotel.
Overall though I enjoyed my stay. I think it can be fantastic place, just needs little upgrading.

The family who runs this place are very nice and helpful.
The rooms are basics rooms with a great large bed (without aircondition and TV) on beach.
The electricity is 24 hours.

We prepaid for this hotel, big mistake. We arrived and found no one but a grounds keeper who showed us to rooms. I had specifically asked ahead of time if they had AC in the rooms. Even called the expedia number and had them check. None of the rooms have AC so if you like it hot, this is your place. The rooms were not as pictured no ac no kitchenet and there was no one to talk to, there are no restraunts or bar, you are on your own. . We apparently had prepaid through Expedia so just lost our money. We moved down the street to Los Lirios and got a cabana by the ocean with ac. We went back to Parayso several times with my son to see about a refund. Stay away from here unless you are really hardy and can ruff it. I think their AC is a fan.
