-Bad location. on a main road, so there is lots of noise and dust),
-Bad service. We had a 10% off coupon for the first visit. they didn't want to take it because they said it was our second visit: the first time we stop to ask for information counted as our first visit.
-No hot water, and small terrible bathrooms.
-Smelly blankets, old kitchen.

I have been to many hostels all across the globe. this was the worst ever.

I agree with all the horrible reviews below. This hostel holds your passport "hostage" until you check out. There are "free" bikes for you to use. Everyone of them had leaky tires and got flat. When I went to check out they charged me for popping the tires. Such a scam...they knew they were handing me faulty equipment to increase my bill. Everyone complained about these people finding ways to scam you off....staff are con artists. They also illegally added a 100 peso entrance ticket to a cenote which I never went to. A totally bogus charge. I had to get the tourist police involved to get my passport back. Staff lied to police too.

A guy came to us at the bus station and convinced us to get a taxi out to lobo. The price he told us at the bus station was a lie. It cost quite a bit more than promised for a stinky damp dingy dorm. The pool we were told about looked like it was filled with swamp water. I don't bother trying it! Everywhere was filthy. The kitchen was absolutely rank there was moldy old food in dishes all over the place. None of the computers worked and the free bikes were a joke. You could find a better bike in a skip. The location is only good if you had a decent bike otherwise its a pretty long way from town if you need anything. To top it all we saw some of the staff throw a cat in a little room then some noises came out that sounded like they were battering it! If you can't tell I hated this place. Easily my worst accomodation in 9 months of traveling!

we were mobbed at the bus staton and pursuaded to stay here...wish we had done some research before we arrived! We were lured with cheap prices, a pool, free bikes etc. The prices weren't true, the pool was disgusting and the free bikes almost unusable. We only stayed cause we'd had to pay for a taxi from town to get there and it was closer to the ruins. The kitchen was hideously dirty, which was where they made the free breakfast. The breakfast was ok, but so late in the morning the ruins were really busy when we arrived. The dorms were cramped and uninviting, and there were hardly any showers or loos-what there was was dirty and didn't work very well...also, they watch films very loud outside the dorm till late. Overall a horrendous experience, and we left first thing! Just so you know, it changed hands fairly recently, and most of the good reviews are from before this.
