Gary the manager of the hotel was excellent from our arrival for a three night stay. His recommendations for places to go and places to eat were spot on. The room was clean, spacious by UK standards and had all the facilities you could want. For the reasonable price this was a great hotel for anyone after a reasonably priced room with air conditioning and right off the main street where all the activity is. Highly recommended. Thank you for a excellent stay. The staff are fabulous.
This is a small friendly hotel in the centre of Tulum. The rooms are basic but absolutely fine. They are clean, have air con, fan, TV and hot water. The rooms were cleaned every day and towels provided. It's a kind of boutique hotel but by mexican standards.. dont expect 5 star luxury and room service but relative to the cabanas on the beach its much better value and looking at other hotels in the town this is probably one of the best. It was perfect for what we wanted as a base in Tulum and the staff are really helpful and friendly. They provided great information from places to eat (check out Azafran for breakfast, El Asadero for cheap taco's and Ginger for evening dinner for a higher standard of restaurant, Mateo's on the beach did strong margarita's and fantastic baja fish taco's!), they also provided info on bus times, where to go, cenotes, swimming with turtles and the trip we booked via the hotel to visit Chitzen Itza is really good value at approx US$45 and includes minibus, lunch, guided tour and a visit to a cenote on the way home. If we were to go back to Tulum we would definitely stay here again but we would also book a beach hut for a few nights just to experience staying close to the beach and ocean. We stayed 10 nights and hopefully we'll be back one day....
The hotel is well located in tulum center. Clean and quiet. But what really makes your stay unforgettable is the hotel managers (Liz & Gary) and their staff! They were so helpful and welcome you very well. Give you great tips and advices for restaurants etc.. Beach club ana y jose was fantastic and was recommended by Liz.
We stayed at Hotel Latino for two nights and it was perfectly fine. Although the room was very small, it was fairly nicely decorated. The room door felt a bit rickety - to pull it closed there's a picture hook which kept falling out. Bathroom was equally tiny, but clean and the shower was good.
There was both A/C and ceiling fan to keep us cool, and as detailed, a hammock just outside the bedroom.
We paid an extra $10 to stay on the first floor, and to receive a fridge stocked with a couple of beers, soft drinks, snacks, etc.
Gary the manager was very helpful in advising top spots to visit in the town - there's a fab tapas restaurant a stone's throw from the hotel, and a wonderful place to grab brekkie - Azafran a 5 min drive away. Hotel Latino is in the town, 10 mins drive from the beach, one block back from the main strip.
As stated at the beginning of the review, perfectly fine, but due to the size, and no pool or bar, not the kind of place to chill out in. More like a base. We discovered better places to stay for around the same price.
