This is a nice little place and I would recommand it to others looking for accomidation in the town of tulum (and would also recommand Playa azul for those who prefare the beach area). I must note that I believe some of the reviews are not reallistic yet everyone deserve their opinion (including me)
Lets start with the bad news:
Air-conditioning unit is very noisy, we used it once and for a short time to avoid the noise.
WiFi had no signal in the room, only on the room balcony. This was a big let down
The strongest Point of this little hotel is Tom and the staff. We were given excellente tips from Tom that made our trip even better: where to get vegeterian meals, salsa place and he even bought us a power unit adaptor we needed. All while being sick!
The breakfast is OK. The rooftop is nice and everything is freshly made, the hot dish is both tasty and well presented. I found that some items are too sweet for us - the orange juice and the coffee, there was probably some added suger that I would have prefared to leave out.
The room itself is not very impressive but neat and the bed is HUGE. I loved it. Oh, and the organic shampoo I loved as well, but it was strange to me that we recieved only one bottle for two (same case in another hotel we stayed in, maybe thats the way it works around here)
A taxi to the beach costs ~60peso =~5usd. (playa azul beach)
To the ruins about the same ~50peso
To Xel-ha I think it was 200peso (~17usd) but it is possiable to take a collectivo for much less (20peso a person I think)
Overall it is a nice place to stay in Tulum and we were happy with the accomidation. I would recommand it to others and advice to consider playa azul (in which our friend stayed in) on the beach area as well.
