We had a great stay here. Location not the greatest if wanting the beach but the room & the breakfast are first rate.

My wife and I stayed for 4 nights in Tulum and decided to take Trip Advisor's advice and stay here. Upon booking I was immediately emailed with suggestions for shuttle service from Cancun. I was told that I had nothing to worry about and all of my options would be laid out for me for rest, relaxation, excitement, and good eats upon my arrival. This was an understatement. I was greeted by Tom and his dad and treated like family from arrival to departure. He had a map ready with every activity a person could think of already marked up and ready for me to take on my adventure. There was free snorkeling, theme parks, beaches, cenotes, nature reserves, excellent restaurants, suggestions for cabs, bike rentals, parties, beach clubs etc... and everything could be arranged by Tom. It was a bit overwhelming to tell you the truth and I wish my wife and I had a few more days, because there is so much to do in this small charming town and surrounding areas. The beaches are incredible, and food out of this world. Tulum and the Posada are a travelers dream. We were here during high season and I feel like we got a steal on the price. Clean rooms, a delicious breakfast each morning, Wi-Fi and the friendships that my wife and I built with not only Tom and his dad, but the other travelers were priceless.

It's safe to say my wife and I will definetly be back to this city and hotel. I really hope this place is not ransacked by the big hotel chains and resorts. It is the true definition of Mexican charm and hospitality. All it needs is a recycling plant and they are good to go. Please stay here!!!!

So this is our second visit to this posada, and the reason we repeated was that teh personal service was sooooo outstanding! Gareth (Tom) is holding down the fort on his own right now, and is doing an amazing job! They have hired a chef whom makes wonderful breakfast specials that are truely a delight and are local cuisine.
The upgrades done in the suites are fanatastic and much more with the times.
The only thing is the beds. Which are the same at every place we stay, they are hard.

We had a delightful stay at Posada Luna del Sur in Tulum in December. Tulum is by far the best place to stay on the Mayan Riviera (we also stayed in various other places along the coast) and Posada Luna del Sur is a very relaxing place to stay in Tulum. Every member of staff is incredibly friendly, from the nightwatchman to the owners, and tries to make your stay as nice as possible. The tips you receive on arrival from the owner, about places to eat, to drink and places to hang out at the beach (the beach in Tulum is amazing!) are certainly worth following! These places never dissapointed us and made our stay extra nice! The breakfast alone is reason enough to stay here. We even received advice on how to organise our upcoming wedding :-).
