We loved this placed. We stayed four nights in the Alta Mar suite which is located on the second floor(above Kin)and had a balcony with breath taking views of the beach and ocean. I loved falling asleep each night listening to the ocean waves.
Alexis was a fabulous host who made sure we were comfortable at all times.
He is also an amazing cook! Due to the weather we ate in for 3 nights and were lucky that he made such great meals! The arugula pesto pasta was to die for. The pasta was fresh(not packaged). We met a great British couple that we had dinner with two nights. We enjoyed wine and laughed over great meals.
Can't wait to return. The only tip I would give would be to apply tons of bug spray. We were eaten alive by mosquitos and ants.

But not for spoiled:
Beds are not comfortable, toilets not seperated entirely from the room.
No electricty and a/c in rooms.

I stayed here in February for eight nights. We had the most amazing time and experience. First, we had no problems booking and paying for our reservation. Upon arrival, the place was exactly as described. It was quiet, charming, impeccably clean, and in a breathtakingly beautiful location. We ate often at the on-site restaurant for breakfast and dinner and never had a bad experience. We actually found ourselves thinking when we ate other places that we should have just eaten at the hotel. The food was very fresh, simple and delicious, and the staff friendly and attentive. And we were taken advantage of more than once at some other establishments, but never at Tierras del Sol.

We did find a beetle, lizard or other little friend in and around our room, but it never bothered us. Nor did we ever encounter anything dangerous. It's just part of being in an eco-friendly structure and environment.

We took advantage of our close proximity to Sian Ka'an and spent several days there for the sunset views and kayaking.

I love this place so much that I don't want to tell people about it and I am coming back this winter!

We stayed at the Tierras Del Sol for a couple of nights and wished it could have been more. Its location at the far end of the strip, although away from many of the places to eat and drink, makes for a great hideaway from the main group of resorts. Our room (Kim) had a sea view, was very clean and had some great little touches to it. There really was nothing better than to wake up with the sound of the ocean waves and a view of the sea from the room. The main part of the hotel is extremely peaceful and geared towards a very relaxing stay. The food cooked at the Tierras Del Sol was great and I would definitely recommend eating there at least one evening. It really was a beautiful and peaceful place to stay.
