“First time of paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

It was my first time in Tullum and it was an amazing trip for me.
The hotel and staffs were great! Had lots of fun there I will remember!
Nice food -always fresh!!-, great rooms and a perfect ambient!!

Everyone has his own hammock and it was the best to lay a few minutes there before having breakfast!

Thank you for feeling like home and hope to see you again!!

You have to update your pictures cuz its much better now!!

“Back for the 5th time!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

Las Ranitas has done a marvelous job of redesigning their property and decor.
They have built a large palapa right on the pristine beach of Tulum for dining, relaxing, sipping a cocktail etc..
It is a Eco friendly boutique hotel with separate unique guest rooms. Their friendly staff and management are always helpful and gracious. I also love the dining experience.
They offer great service and can accommodate weddings right on their beautiful beach with the Caribbean Sea as the backdrop...Totally breathtaking! They have enough room for wedding parties and your guests. June July Aug Sept & Oct are great months to enjoy this delightful piece of Heaven on earth!

“Ranitas is a perfect part of this paradise”

We were very, very lucky the hotel was overbooked...because we were upgraded to their biggest, most luxurious room (bigger then my own livingroom). Nonetheless, Las Ranitas perfectly fits into the amazing long, resortfree stretch of white sand Tulum offers. Nice, clean bungalows between the palm trees. Plenty of beachchairs, hammocks, places to relax and a (bit expensive) nice restaurant. Staff is relaxed and very helpfull. Closeby we saw a turtle laying her eggs at night. The hotel was overbooked because of a fotoshoot of beachwear, by nice models :-) One night there was a party, our bungalow was far away enough not to bodered, but I can imagine if you had a room at the main complex, it could be annoying. But overall, we had absolutely no complaint. Next summer we are going back.

Room Tip: Rooms at the main complex can be noisy, if there is a party at the beach/restaurant.

“staff & location (yea!), value for your dollar/peso (not so much).”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

My wife and I traveled to Tulum for a relaxing holiday. The team at Las Ranitas were helpful and attentive. Antonio the beach attendant catered to our every need, and Jerome and the front desk personnel were always helpful with recommendations. And, there was enough beachfront to make you feel secluded from the other guests. The relatviely remote location, kept a bulk of the crowds far away. The food was above average and we enjoyed the Chillaquies (sp?) every morning.

The rooms were OK, if not a bit rough around the edges, but clean. Comfortable bed. Perhaps due to the environment the toilet leaked and there was no water pressure for showers. Speaking of which we had no hot water for the first three days of a six day stay. They said they had to have one delivered and had to demand they get it taken care of when it finally did arrive. There was also a colony of ants in the closet but this is likely an issue of being in the tropics.

Overall, though we had a wonderful trip in Mexico, I had a hard time justifying the $425 (USD)/night cost. I didn't feel we got a lot for the money. We will likely try another hotel when we return.

“Restaurant was excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

We specifically came to the Las Ranitas restaurant to have the stuffed lobster Chile Rellanos. Our expectations were exceeded on both our menu choices (the other menu item was the Barbecoa de pollo, a slow cooked chicken wrapped in banana leaf). Both dishes were outstanding - delicious and wonderfully presented.

Chef Many has great culinary skills. He also is very customer oriented.

Thank you!
