I stayed at this hotel after a friend had booked in here, based on reviews. The first impressions were that it was a bit odd where it was located, in between homes and opposite a showground area, and the reception was not obvious to find. However, the hotel is very cute, and has a lot of charm. I had a downstairs room which was cool and comfortable, and also quiet. It had a small courtyard with hammock, but not really usable as it was inbetween the three tall concrete walls and the sliding door. The bathroom is a sectioned off corner of the tiled room with an opening between the brush false ceiling and the mud brick style wall, with the handbasin on the outside (which was painted in beautiful artistic Mexican style). So if you have any privacy concerns regarding the bathroom use / noises, you might want to send you roommate out for a walk or use the common facilities off the courtyard. The shower is open with no screen, so after use you need to mop up the residual and push the water towards the drain, because the tiling has not been done on the correct angle so the water will not gravitate toward the drain naturally. The bed was very comfortable, there were lovely decorations in the room and the air con worked well. There are no ceiling fans, and not a lot of furniture in the room. The internet works well. There is no breakfast included, but the owners are able to accommodate some basic choices if you require.
Overall I found my stay here pleasant, and would recommend to others wanting to stay near town. For us though I think it was a little overpriced as we were there in the quiet season, and it is a long way from the beach. The cost of a taxi to the beach is 50 pesos.
The owners are nice, very friendly and fun, but we struggled with English communication at times. There was no room safe or anywhere to lock valuables. I was a bit concerned that as soon as I stepped out of my room for a moment, the owner was already cleaning the room and the door was unlocked as she moved between rooms for cleaning, which left me a bit worried about the safety of my items. I didn't lose anything, but thought this was worth mentioning for those with valuables.
