Just stumbled upon El Cielo in Playa and could not have found better. The beds and pillows were the best we experienced while touring the Riviera and the hotel is only a rock's through away. The staff was very friendly and the room well priced. We got more then our money's
worth. We will return.

Stayed here just recently for 7 days. The location is excellent right on 4th and 5th perfect walking distance to some of the better sections of the beach. Met the owner, Steve, who is taking a personal hand in the overall operation of the hotel and it shows!! The staff were amazingly polite and helpful. The beds are the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in while in Playa Del Carmen, where at these smaller hotels it is common to find beds as hard as stone.

The room was very clean, while the view wasn't the greatest, who cares!! The rooms were very quite as we were on the back side. And although it might not sound like a big deal, there are water jug stations at 2 locations allowing you to refill your water bottles with fresh water, which saves you the MAJOR HASSLE of making sure you always have water on hand.

I will visit again.

We stayed here one night until our condo was ready. Wished we had stayed longer! I have slept on my share of crappy beds on Mexico...And to me if the bed is crappy and you don't sleep good, nothing else matters. These beds are AWESOME. Pillow top...wish I had one at home. No exaggeration, the best bed I have ever slept on.

The location isn't bad either. We were upgraded for free and had a room where we could stand out on the balcony and look at the activity on the street. Lots of interesting people watching. It was quiet too, the only improvement I could suggest would be to make the curtains wider or install some shades where one would have the option to totally darken the room if you wanted to sleep in. Would definitely stay here again, though.

We really enjoyed this place. The staff is incredible. The beach is close and you are right in the heart of playa. It was recommended from my friend Bobby and he was right when he said, "you won't be sorry". Can't wait to get back!
