nice small hotel, clean and very friendly.
All of the staff was helpfull/willling to provide hints and tips of the area.

We stayed here for 5 nights at the end of June, it was supposed to be for one night but we kept adding days. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly. Located right on 5th avenue - can be a little noisy at night but didn't cause us any trouble! Would definitely recommend for people travelling through and on a budget.

12th Calle (st) has not become the place to be for nightlife. One particular club is nestled right up against Hacienda Maria Bonita. The music starts any time after 11pm and continued as late as 6:30 am. Thank goodness for earplugs and a not so quiet air conditioner.

The location of the hotel is strategic for budget trip. We stayed there on our last days in Playa Del Carmen. The hotel is closed by to good restaurants (and NOT as expensive as those in fifth avenue), scuba diving operators, pubs, bank (atm) and small supermarket Oxxo. It only takes you less than 5 minutes walking to the beach and fifth avenue. The breakfast was okay - nothing spectacular. No wi-fi in the room. The swimming pool is very small. The hotel has very friendly front office staff.
We had an issue with the bathroom in our room - it was so stink. We made a complaint and it seemed that they could not do much with the smell. Since we stayed there only for 3 nights on our last holidays and already paid in advance then we tried to cope with it.
