I stumbled on this small hotel for a quick one night stay. Booked online and paid with a credit card upon arrival. It was quite a nice surprise to find a place only blocks from the quinta yet very quiet. The hotel has a security guy , Manuel, who remains on duty and a security gate. He had me give him my room key and passport when I left the hotel and he was there to give it back once I returned from my outing. We stayed in a palapa room. Room was adequate, clean, small but big enough. Bathroom was nice with good pressure in the shower. Our hot water was sparse but its warm outside and that did not bother me. I really would consider staying here again. It is very close to the bus terminal, which was my main concern. It is located between 10th and 15th. They are repaving the entire 10th avenue to make it a "green" place for bikes and people so once this is done, this street will become like the Quinta. This will be good for many business because there are many fine businesses that do not get the foot traffic that the Quinta does. I look forward to another visiti to Barrio latino and will tell you to try it also. They tolerated my mal espanol and they have 2 nice dogs. The room rate also included a breaksfast in a nice courtyard.

Dear Customer,
thanks for your opinion, for your stay, for your nice words.
The room you booked is the Caribbean with a double bed : it is the smallest among the rooms available, still very loved by solo travelers and romantic couples.
Even if not available via the web , we are now ready and offering a Caribbean room with a King Size bed and this room will be the biggest among the rooms of the Hotel.
My suggestion is to book the Caribbean when alone or accepting it is a little bit smaller (size of the bed is smaller also), and ask for the Caribbean King via our web page ( a contact form is available).
The new look of part of the old Playa del Carmen should be ready starting next March.
We think we will get back that "local" feeling we somehow kept while Playa was growing.
Lola and Mafalda (our dogs) are happy you mentioned them also!
See you during your next visit and thanks again for visiting and loving Playa del Carmen!
Andrea
