“Rude welcome....”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

I am staying in Playadelcarmen for 4 months. Having condsidered staying here I took a bike ride in. I had only just stopped for a brief second , wanting to get a brochure. Not even off my bike I was vey promptly and rudely showed where to put my bike, with the scooters, by Marcios. I said I wasn't staying and would just like a brochure as I was considering staying here next time. He continued to be rude and him and the other fellow laughed as I left. I think I will cross this place off my list.

From the year 1999 we vacation every year in Quintana Roo, since we discovered Sunset Fishermen In Playa del Carmen we go there yearly the staff are friendly, we learned that the hotel did some renovations and upgrades of the rooms, we love the idea of optional meal plan because on 5th Ave there are lots of international restaurants it is a must to eat out at night, we drive up from Belize it's nice to visit the attractions and get around at your own pace , the beaches are beautiful.

“Our stay at Sunset Fishermen, Playa del Carmen”

The location is awesome, right on the beach, so if you like to swim in the ocean this is a great spot. We found the food to be average and kind of high-priced, but we did alot of cooking in our room which saved $$. This is an older facility, and we had a couple of problems in our room; they had to completely replace our toilet, and our safe stopped working (just a battery, but kind of a pain anyway). But the staff is helpful and friendly, there are fun daily activities, and the proximity to the ocean (stone's throw from the balcony) make up for a lot.

Room Tip: 2nd and 3rd floor rooms have more privacy on the balcony/patio and a better view of the beach. Room...

“OUR FAVORITE PLACE ON THE YUCATAN”

We look forward all year to two weeks at Fishermen's! It is like going home..from year to year, Marcial recognizes us and welcomes us by name. Luis is always waiting to welcome everyone and in my case, has the cribbage board ready. They are all like family. The hotel itself is wonderful, always clean and so close for walking to town to enjoy all the other wonderful things about Playa del Carmen. The food is not the best, but the jugo verde is by far the most delicious and nutritious I have had (and I try it everywhere). The small size of the facility is perfect for families with children as you always know where they are and even the staff helps keep track of them! I highly recommend it, but don't take my two weeks! Sra. Judy

Room Tip: the internet is available only in the lobby.
