We stumbled upon this place while looking for a room for a few nights on the beach in Playa before we came home. We were able to stay in #11 bungalow for two nights. It is right on the beach looking out at Cozumel and the shipping lane. Lots of small fishing boats are tied up along the beach here. We paid $100 US/night tax included-you'll be paying more than that by December! Our room had two double beds, coffee table with two of the hardest couches that I've ever sat on! Had to call and have the shower serviced immediately-not only no hot water, but no water at all! Anyway, they came and fixed it but we never had lots of hot water or pressure in the bungalow. Bulk bottled drinking water is available near the office. The beach was cleaner than it was 15 years ago when we visited this area. Better than expected snorkeling right out front of the hotel. There is a lot of construction ongoing on two sides of this place with lots of workers hanging around and materials being delivered. We turned the AC on at night and never heard a thing! Security was heavy with police there 24 hours/day-not quite sure what happened but I guess that something went on a day or two before our arrival. We never felt threatened though and walked to restaurants several evenings. Parked our car near the office and never had a problem with vandalism. Had to move to a standard room on our third night because the bungalow had been previously reserved-the std room was clean and roomy and cost $70 US w/tax included-lots of hot water there for the shower. They have some nice suites too for around $80. These come with larger fridges and kitchenettes. You may get a better deal with a package deal, but if you just happen to be looking for a night or two, you might check this place out.
