“Good value prime location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

We looked at more than 30 hotels on the net and decided for this one. We wooried when we learned a week before check-inn that our rooms selection was no possible. But we were offered a nice alternative and have had a great 4 nights stay. Rooms 303-305 are quit with good seaview and 201 and 218 perfect seafront views with balcony. Noise from nearby disco is there every night but you get to live with it and it dissapears when the aircon is on.

“Playa Del Carmen get away”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

It's small, quaint and quiet. It's easy, just a few blocks from the bus station and right off the down town 5th avenue area. If you're not looking for big fancy places and want convenience and ease. This is it. Inexpensive too. One draw back is the constant "bump, bump, bump", from the local club/s nightlife. That can drive you a little crazy.

Room Tip: Get a courtyard room. There's no advantage to a beach side ocean view room and it might even be...

stayed in beach front room and had a mostly good stay.
location in relation to restaurants, beach stuff is pretty much perfect, no problems there.
didn't catch(don't remember) his name but the front desk staff was friendly and helpful, no problems there.
property is a bit old and on the beach (in Mexico) so condition and facilities are about what you'd expect. Not bad, maybe a little damp, musty but, again it;s on the beach and it's no worse than pretty much any where else. I guess the room looked just a little tired but, again, our room was on the beach and the weather, sun, wind, sand, etc, is gonna give it a battering. king size Bed was OK, prob a bit hard. no big issue for me or my gf. but honestly, no exaggeration, the pillows were as thick and hard as a cinder block. when i first layeddown i actually wondered what they were. laughably bad. all in all no real, deal breaker type problems with the condition of the room itself

For me, the real deal breaker was noise, as all night long music from several locations up and down the beach. also quite a bit from people on the beach as well. I'm sorry to say that for me it was unbearable. Funny thing, i was chatting with another guest in the morning that had stayed in one of the inner rooms in the hotel and she said her room was quiet as a tomb. if i return it will definatly be one of those and not the beach front room.

“Lost reservation and not well maintained”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 December 2011

I loved this place 15 years ago when I stayed here, which is why I made reservations to stay there again on a recent trip. I reserved their best room, an ocean front room, at a discounted price on Expedia and noted in the reservation that I would be a late arrival. Unfortunately, the night clerk had no record of my reservation when I did arrive and I had to settle for a room where the ocean was nowhere in sight. They did throw in a simple breakfast when I talked to the front desk in the morning, but it did not make up for the price difference, let alone the 1 hour hassle at the front desk after a very long day of traveling.

Judging by my lost reservation, and the fact that the night clerk tried to opened a room door that already had guests in there (freaking them out), I'd say they are not well organized. And sadly, the place has been terribly maintained since my last visit. I will not be going back.

“Nice hotel without luxury”

direct at nice beach, rooms are ok and clean, no high-end hotel but everything needed was available: safe, small fridge, A/C, TV (for those who need it), during the night you can hear a little bit the entertainment in the neighborhood, nice view to Isla Cozumel if you book OCEAN VIEW. 1 min-walk to pedestrian zone where you find many tourist shops and restaurants etc
