My Husband and I went to Mexico in May this year for our Honeymoon. We stayed in Playa Del Carmen at the most beautiful all-inclusive hotel called Sandos Caracol Beach. Our 2 weeks were amazing!
The things we did are as follows:

1) Soak up the sun within the grounds of the lush picturesque hotel and get to know other people (many lovely lively Americans!).

2) Eat and drink far too much! Very good cocktails, the bar staff will make you pretty much anything you want.

3) Explore Playa Del Carmen, walk all over and bargain hunt in the local shops and the very popular 5th Avenue! (We had our photo took with the cutest little monkeys, this Mexican lady was carrying them walking down the street.)

4) We went to Tulum (In one word-AWESOME!) interesting and beautiful, a city surrounded by walls and the most breath taking views of the Caribbean Sea.

5) Spent the day exploring the pyramid at Chichen Itza all and of the original ruins. This day was so hot and we had run out of water (BIG TIP- TAKE LOTS WITH YOU!)

6) Went on a boat across the sea to swim with the dolphins and manatees in their own environment. We also snorkeled in the shark pool (with protection!) and saw many stingrays. This day was mine and Michael's (my hubby) most memorable.

7) We went to Cancun to go to the markets and see what the hype is about. Could not find out what is was let me tell you! Too busy, too many English!!! Although I’ve heard it's great for the bars and restaurants @ night.....???

Our hotel room overlooked the grounds and we had a sea view, the fridge was filled every other day with cans of drink so we were happy as we drank so much water and fizzy drink! The food was outstanding and I can honestly say WE CANNOT WAIT TO GO BACK NEXT EYAR!!! SEPTEMBER. Only 10 months to go!!!!!!!

Go to Mexico as it's bloody brilliant. The people are lovely and the scenery is stunning. Nice and cheap and the beaches are clean and out of a brochure picture perfect. If you want to see some culture and raw "Mayans" get out and explore.
