We got stuck in a huricane and ended up in Playa for a couple extra days. We decided to leave our big all inclusive hotel farther from town and stay here at Casa Ticul. We really enjoyed the stay. The price was right and the location was perfect for being away from the beach. The receptionist was awesome and got us reservations at a restaurant and had several other restaurant sugestions that worked out great. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We would definately stay here again.

I was in town for my daughter's wedding. Casa Ticul is close to the beach-4 min walk. Reasonably priced. Bright airy rooms.Very friendly staff. The food ladies in the rooftop kitchen can cook'em up. Real nice. Start the day off with good food. Meet some of your fellow guests. At least 10 were here for the wedding. Felt like I was at someone's house.Kinda cool. I would stay here again.

I stayed at this small hotel for 2 weeks in January, 2012. I was very pleased with the accomodations. Very good beds and shower pressure (although no hot water between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM - a very minor inconvenience which I quickly adjusted to). The staff is universally pleasant; receptionist Paolima was very helpful. Nice breakfast on the roof served by 3 delightful, happy young women. Free access to the beautiful Los Palapas resort and beach club, just a 5 minute walk from the hotel. I chose this hotel because it was at the far end of 5th. Avenue, away from the densely populated and very noisy center of town. This was my fourth trip to Playa, and the town can be very noisy at night. If you are concerned about noise at night, ask for a quiet room when booking. The room I got (#10) had no view, but it was fairly quiet. (I suggest bringing a set of earplugs just in case). If you are looking for a good hotel in a quiet part of town, this is the place for you.

We had an incredibly nice stay at Casa Ticul. It had everything you could ask for: clean rooms, welcoming and helpful staff, and a really nice complimentary breakfast served on the rooftop deck. More than anything, I liked the design of the hotel. Everywhere were little details that really showed that someone with great taste took the time to make it a pleasant place to be.

Another thing I ended up liking about the hotel was its location. I was a little concerned that it was so far at the end of Avenida 5, but that ended up being a positive feature. In the years since I had last been to Playa del Carman, the town has exploded in size, and down on the main drag it gets a little Cancunish and mall-like... and overpriced. Casa Ticul inhabits a spot that feels a little like the Playa del Carmen I remember: still plenty of restaurants and bars and the other amenities, but somehow, friendlier, hipper and more reasonably priced. And if you need to go to Little Cancun down the road, it's an easy pleasant walk.

One small small complaint: the wifi is nearly useless in the rooms. Dear Casa Ticul: if you're reading this, please get some routers!!
