My husband and I spent several days at Le Reve the week after I took the bar exam and absolutely loved it. It was secluded, quiet, and the staff seem dedicated to pampering the guests. We found it so relaxing that we abandoned all of our plans to go on touristy excursions in favor of naps on the beach, swims in the ocean (1/4 mile up the beach, yes), cocktails in the pool, and nachos and Spanish scrabble at the pool bar. We liked the food so much that we only went into Playa for dinner once. I personally liked the lack of TVs and wifi. If you're looking for a beautiful place to relax, restore, and get away from the grind, Le Reve is perfect.

What a fantastic little find in Playa del Carmen. With only 25 (or so) rooms in the entire beachfront hotel, we got first-class service and spent our vacation in a truly tranquil paradise. We stayed in an ocean-view room- Playa Linda- and thought the accommodations were great. The bed was really comfortable and the room was really clean. As many reviews say, many parts of the beach along Playa are "rocky". These are the beautiful reefs that you can explore with snorkel gear. You can also walk about 1/4 a mile north on the beach (you'll pass the all inclusive hotel that has 1000+ hotel guests sitting on top of each other and not be envious at all) and experience a stretch of beach that has no reef at all. The hotel does provide some water shoes, but since it's first come first serve, I recommend bringing a pair. The food is good; we really enjoyed breakfast and lunch. Dinner for us was a miss the one time we ate there-- we may have just ordered the wrong thing. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel and can't wait to return.

After much searching and discussion, we decided to have a destination wedding in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. As soon as we walked into the LeReve property during our wedding location research we absolutely fell in love with the property and we knew a the decision was made.

The place is absolutely incredible, it’s a hidden tropical oasis right on the beach and even though very convenient to get to (45 min from the airport and only 10 minutes by car from Playa Del Carmen) you feel secluded from the tourist crowds. It is a perfect choice if you are looking for a relaxing, sophisticated romantic getaway, or an intimate celebration with close friends and family such as weddings or reunions.

The employees were extremely helpful at all times and catered to all of our needs. Our friends and family had so much fun and nothing but good things to say about our choice in the resort. The rooms are spacious, clean and we loved the simple, modern but tropical design. The beach front is conveniently set up so you can either sit by the pool while enjoying the beautiful ocean view or relax on the beach in one of the most comfortable beach beds or hammocks by listening to waves and palm breeze.

The food and cocktails were also incredible and the presentation and service were a 5 star quality. And the wedding...the wedding was a dream. The wedding coordinator (Arlenis) followed all of our instructions to a tee (and above) and the decorations and ceremony were breathtaking. We couldn't have asked for a better day. We got a complementary honeymoon package for our honeymoon in July, 2011. I found this hotel on the internet last winter while I was searching the perfect place for our honeymoon and this place was listed as number one on www.honeymoon.com; after seeing the photos we immediately booked our amazing "bungalow" with this honeymoon package. And the days we spent there were like being in paradise. The hotel is like a secret, like a cave near Playa Del Carmen. Despite of all hustle and bustle of the surrounding hotels, ours was the oasis of tranquility... The best thing is that there were no kids around, running, screaming, jumping in the pool... because the hotel doesn't accept kids below 16 years old, only for special occasions they do this. Our bungalow was awesome, huge and comfortable bed, private garden, private pool in the garden, and just behind our garden there is the ocean.. We slept every night with the sound of waves...
Breakfast is perfect, they serve fruits, french toasts, jams, butter and fresh breads, juice, coffee & tea IN ADDITION TO the hot typical and delicious plate which you can choose among 8-9 options. I tried one every morning, all were delicious, for me too much for a breakfast but were delightful.
Our honeymoon package had many complementary items like a special dinner on the beach, breakfast at room with sparkling wine, one stone with our names and date, and many other surprises that made us feel the luckiest couple in the world.
We were there months ago so maybe I don't remember some details now but overall it was more than great, I don't have the right word to express it.
And we really would like to go back there..maybe for an anniversary!
