“Charming hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

Pros: Staff very nice and helpful. Chanrming bar-breakfast-pool area. Room with hardwood floor. Quiet. About ten minutes walk to the square. Large bathroom.

Cons: I wasn't able to get wireless signal in the room. Too many mosquitos in the pool area. Pool was full of twigs, I haven't seen anyone use it. Poor sewage system. Bathroom fixtures were old, there was no place to put soap etc within reach of shower. Shower floor got slippery because of poor drainage. They never replenished shampoo, soap, toilet paper etc unless we asked for them. There is no food in the bar, not even nuts or tortilla chips.

“Quiet retreat from the busy city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

The pool and grounds of this hotel are lovely, an instant retreat from the hustle and bustle of Merida's streets. Bathrooms are spacious and our room (room 1) had double doors opening onto a lovely cool patio right by the pool. The room itself smelt slightly damp, particularly the walk-in wardrobe which as a result, we chose not to use. Breakfasts were delicious, freshly squeezed orange juice and a varied choice of eggs etc. Location was about one block too far from the main square etc, but the nearby restaurant on the corner of 62 & 51 was great.

Room Tip: Rooms 1 and 3 open up onto the pool

“Haven of peace”

This place is an absolute gem, beautiful boutique styling courteous staff and patron. Nothing was too much trouble. Room was huge and comfortable, free wi fi throughout lovely toiletries. Drinks were accompanied by delicious canapes all beautifully prepared and presented by Jorge. The position is ideal, just a little away from the hustle of downtown but easy walking distance to everything.
We have only just checked and not actually left the hotel but felt compelled to write this review. Hopefully, this will be the benchmark standard of our hotels in Yucatan on this the first stop of our tour.

Room Tip: We had room 3 in VIP section at the end of the pool, very comfortable and somewhat separate

“A hidden gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2011

Discovering this wonderful hidden gem in Merida was one of the highlights of our week-long stay in Cancun and Merida. Nestled in the heart of the colonial center, it was a revelation to go beyond the front door to discover the amazing hacienda setting, the luxurious rooms, the wonderful pool...I felt like I had stepped back in time to experience a bit of history! Our room was spacious with very high ceilings and the decor, sumptuous. A truly memorable experience.

“The smaller, the better, we reckon!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

We've come to the conclusion after spending nearly 3 weeks in Mexico, that small boutique hotels are the best, and this was no exception. You enter into the hotel, and you know you've reached a lovely haven away from all the bustle outside. Location is great because its so near the zocalo/main square, and just to come in and enjoy the pool was a delight after a busy touring day. We enjoyed our breakfasts, drinks at the bar and the staff were all friendly. Very comfortable rooms with great bathrooms - nothing more needed. We'll definitely recommend this hotel to friends.
