“It´s good for what you pay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 December 2010

I have been there for two nights, I have just used the rooms, the pool, and safes that are available at the reception, so i cannot talk about the other services. I have no complains, the rooms were clean and spacious, it felt great to dive in the pool after a long day exploring the pyramids. The process of putting and taking values from the receptions safe went smoothly, whenever i wanted to. The hotel is near the center, so it is very easy to visit the center of merida, a little mexican town. If you are looking for a decent hotel with a decent price that allow you to visit merida and explore the nearby ruins, this is a good option!

“OK for 1 night”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2010

Stayed here as part of our Yucatan tour, we had no say in the choice of hotel.

Rooms were quite pleasant however, the downside was that there was no outside window, the window looked out on to the corridor so you had to keep the curtains closed or be on display the whole time. The plus side to this was we didn't hear the street noise.

Had breakfast and an evening meal both were a rather mediocre affair haphazardly served.

“Not the best place to stay”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2010

I chose this hotel for convenient location to center town plaza and rate. Looked ok on internet for a middle of the road hotel. Price seemed right. I booked an "Executive" room which was a bit more $$ than a standard room and on arrival, was assigned a room just barely big enough for the 2 double beds and a night stand. This standard room was assigned despite the fact that the hotel was nowhere near full on the date I stayed there. AC did not work though it was repaired when I reported it. No hot water in the room. Took cold water showers. Front desk staff were less than friendly and generally rude to indifferent. Bellmen were attentive and helpful. The hotel advertises free wire less internet service. I could not ever get a signal established from my room, occasionally a weak signal from the lobby. Front desk staff acted like they never heard of this before and were indifferent about helping solve the problem. One person finally directed me to the "business Center" which was 1 computer. It was not turned on and once it was, had issues accessing internet as well. I finally found a spot in the restaurant where I could get a reletively strong and consistent wireless signal and had to spend several hours in there taking care of business. It's frustrating that "wireless internet" is advertised as an amenity when clearly it is not available. Room furnishing sub par. For $10 more, one could have stayed at the 4 star Hyatt, Intercontinental, or Fiesta Americana hotels about 1 mile away and still within the city.

“If you're not an arrogant snob, great Mexican hotel”

For Pete's sake, this is Mexico. If you want a great American style room, stay in the USA. If you want a good clean, middle of the road Mexican hotel with a lot of flavor. Staff is super friendly and will try to get you whatever you need. Restaurant in the hotel is absolutely wonderful; great local food, great service, and will prepare you something at any odd hour. This is the only hotel I will stay at when visiting Merida. I have been to several others and was rather disappointed.

“The best hotel in town!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 April 2009

We thought this was a great hotel, a 7-minute walk to the very centre of Merida. The staff were all so helpful and friendly, the restaurant was open from 7.30 a.m. to 10.30 p.m. which meant you could arrive late from a day trip and still get a good meal. The breakfast buffet was all delicious, too. The rooms were quite large with two queen-size beds and a basin, with separate shower and toilet ensuite. All very clean. Parking was 30 yards round the corner in a hotel-dedicated lot with about 12 spaces. Close to the airport.
