“Great Customer Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

I have stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and the stay was pretty good. The Customer service was great. I have got lot of help from the staff on the restaurants, directions, arranging a taxi, etc. Thank you Johnny and all the rest of the staff. You guys are doing a great job. The room was OK with nice bed. The restaurant was OK. The best thing is the hotel is located close to Plaza Grande and MACAY. Overall, a very good stay with a nice customer service.

Room Tip: Take a pool side room, but not close to elevator. The rooms on the road side are very noisy.

“You get what you pay for here”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

My wife, daughter and I stayed here for 5 nights. Overall I think it was "okay". We had planned to stay for just the first night or two and then find a new place. Merida was such a great experience for us that we didn't want to take the time to search for a new place and move. I think we expected a bit more after reading the comments here.
POSITIVE:
Staff was helpful and friendly. Rooms are a decent size and clean if a bit run-down. Beds are decent. Pool area is nice for a dip. free wifi and computers to use. Restaurant is okay. things had good flavour although a bit sloppy in the details compared to other restaurants in the area. Location is good.
NEGATIVE:
We changed rooms twice hoping to find a quieter location. The room right beside the elevator is VERY noisy all night long. and on the street side the morning traffic is loud on weekdays. The place is a bit run down (but with some charm). We had a leak from the bathroom ceiling. an AC that was barely pumping, overall furnishings a bit dumpy. 2 parties happened in the "conference" space while we were there, but it wasn't a problem for us (This town knows how to have a good time!).
OVERALL:
We felt safe, comfortable, and it was good for us at the time, I think I would search out something better next time but would stay here again in a pinch.

Oh yeah... find out in advance if you can get breakfast included. we were told it was by one person, but found out it wasn't after ordering. I think it was included for other people staying there

Room Tip: You want pool side but not next to the elevator.

“Didnt match online prices”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

two nights spent in this clean and comfortable hotel which represents good value for money. It is dated and a little threadbare in places but when you spend 2 nights for 2 people in comfortable rooms for $1050 ( Pesos) near the centre of town you have to look on this positively. I would stay here again but I would confirm prices before setting off, and check if there are any parties in the hotel. On sat night we needed sleep which was interuppted by a DJ playing a party downstairs. The staff here are wonderful , especially Johnny who is everywhere, but would question why the chef uses tinned peaches and tinned pineapple on the breakfast buffet in a country which fresh fruit supply is never a problem

“Great location, security, restaurant and staff!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

Four of us stayed here last weekend and we were all very impressed with the quality for the value. We thought the restaurant was great too - we didn't indulge in the buffet but did try the huevos motulenos for breakfast - yummy! My friend said they are the best he has ever had!! The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Thanks again Carlos & gang! :) Not sure if it is necessary as we felt safe where ever we went, but here are always security around the hotel so it was nice to not be concerned about our things. It's approximately 4 blocks from Grand Plaza Centre - The rooms were under 50$ a night so great quality for that value. We all would recommend this hotel and stay there again.

Room Tip: book something overlooking the pool - quieter than a room facing the road. Again, try the huevos mot...
