“hotel fantastico”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 March 2011

after arriving from manchester into cancun,we stayed the night in a hotel in the town centre and decided we would travel the following day to Merida to see if the hosts of the hotel zamna were still Linda & keith. To our great delight on ringing the bell we were greeted by a dog barking ,so we knew this would be Henry the schnauser. The door was opened by Linda who greeted us as friends, although to be fair they had lived very close to us in Blackpool. We were guided to the bedroom, which was of a good size with all amenities, ensuite safe and toiletries. What more could one ask. We were offered a cup of coffee and asked if we would like some lunch? We happily accepted. Our stay could not have been better had we been in a 5* establishment. We remained with keith & linda for the remainder of our two week holiday and do not regret it at all. Keep up your excellent hotel.

“Zamna - Mayan god”

Hi,
I found the Hotel Zamna while jogging Merida and liked the location. It is on a one-way street in the middle of a block. The thru traffic must be heading south towards Santiago, then away from downtown Merida, so it does not get a lot of traffic. Given that you can walk 3 blocks to Santiago, and 10 blocks (10 minutes) to Calle 60 (Santa Lucia) - it is a great location. You can also walk to the zoo, but is a bit further. In addition to the quiet location, the hosts from Blackpool England are great, the breakfasts wonderful, very interesting rooms and decorations, small refrigerator in room, and I had no problem with the interesting dog Henry. So what what about problems, well the pool was too cold for me, but since it was the winter solstice, I'm sure it will warm up for you. Tours can be easily arranged and I had a great stay (9 days) as well as a great value.
P.S. They have events once a month that are fun - just ask.
Super Dave

“Great spot, close to historic Merida centro”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 December 2010

Linda and Keith offer their guests an atmosphere of 'your home away from home'. Wake in the morning to a great 5 course breakfast, that gets your day off to a fantastic start. Plan your days' events; site-seeing in the historic and majestic city, an excursion to a Mayan ruin or relax with a good book around the well maintained pool and the enchanting surroundings. Linda and Keith represent the epitome of hosts, to travellers anticipating honest value.

“Best B&B in Merida...Don't look any further!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2010

It's like entering another world when you walk through the doors of Hotel Zamna. The tall ceilings, beautiful artwork and wonderfully decorated entrance is just the begining. At that point you are greeted by 2 of the nicest people we have ever met while traveling.(And we travel alot).
Linda and Keith (the owners) make you feel like family as soon as you you put you foot through the door. Right behind them is their faithful Furry sidekick of the Canine persuasion named Henry. He was not only a cutey but was part of the entertainment while we stayed there.
Linda proceeded to show us all the rooms which were all decorated just as beautiful as
the entrance. Even the Breakfast and Pool area were gorgeous! Speaking of breakfast...Keith was our chef every morning. He prepared the most tastey and colorful breakfasts. I usually had Linda's Incredible quiche and my spouse had Keiths special which he loved. The presentation was colorful and the food was delicious!!
We like to check out the small towns in the area so we headed to Progresso. We ended up exploring Progresso for what was suppose to be a couple of days. But the B&B we stayed at was less then comforting so we Asked Linda if we could come back and stay with them.....It felt like coming back home!! We were glad we did.
As I stated before we travel alot. I have been to numberous B&B's throughout the world. Hotel Zamna Is by far one of the best!! If i were to rate it ....Comfort..10, Food ...11, Hotel Design...10...and the Hosts Linda, Keith & furry Henry..12!!
We truly just met these people during our stay. We couldn't get enough of them. Ohh yah Merida is also a nice place to visit too..:)..We will be back for sure!!

“FANTASTICO”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 June 2010

As it was our first venture into this part of the world, we consulted with freinds & relatives who had laready travelled to Mexico. We originate from Southport, on the North West coast of the UK, and we had friends who had visited this hotel last year. We were absolutely delighted with the hotel, and were made to feel very welcome by the owners, Linda & Keith, and their little dog, henry, who even had his own bar. Small & Sweet, Quality not Quantity came to my mind immediately. No expense has been spared on the decor, and our bedroom was absolutely superb! Well Done, for creating an oasis in the desert. Our breakfast was great, and the evening ambiance in the hotel was second to none. We experienced a Mexican evening, and although our stay was short, we will return next year for a longer stay. I have no hesitation in recommending this lovely hotel to all and sundry. We live partly in Malta, and partly in North Wales, and will be spreading the word also to all our American friends, that this is well worth a trip!
