“BEST LOCATION ON ISLA MUJERES WITH THE BEST SERVICE AND PRICES!!!”

My family and I have been to the Villa kiin every year for the last 10 years. We love it there, we feel home. The staff is friendly and always willing to help. The rooms are clean and affordable . When I say best location on the island I mean it. They have a lagoon in front of there hotel that's almost private. Clear blue water with free snorkeling a few feet from the sand. If you need snorkeling gear the hotel will lend it to you(if your a guest of course). Just remember this is not a luxury hotel, the rooms are nice and well kept, trust me your not going to hang out in the room anyway. The Villa kiin will continue to be a yearly tradition for many years to come. Fellow traveler Armando

“A bit dissappointed”

We stayed at the bungalows, not worth the high price. All the rooms are fee steps from the beach, so, our room it was overpriced, in our opinion.
Dora (at the desk) is very nice, the other lady was not as nice.
You will have to pay extra for the beach chairs and umbrellas if you want to use them at the beach.
The "continental" breakfast is just coffee, orange juice and toast.

“Best location on island, modest price, a little worn, and staff doing their best to please.”

You cannot beat this location. Close enough to "town" but on the northernmost beach with turquoise clear water, for as low as $35 USD in off-season. We had two 2nd floor beachfront rooms for 2 nights mid-Nov 2011 for $300 total.

1st night Had to ask for hot water fix, but good to go from there. Free WiFi in Diego Rivera Library. Shared kitchen next to library.

Free continental breakfast at another hotel a block away. OK. Can walk beach/boardwalk more than a mile on north/east coast. Great.

Slightly down on rooms after a week at 5-star Grand Mayan earlier.

Location trumps all for a couple days, and you only need 2 to see all there is on this little island.

“hated it”

Sorry but i've stayed in better places for the same price. As soon as we walked in the reception area, I had a bad feeling. The service was horrible, not friendly at all. We had a noisy air conditioner that raddled all night. The room is not lit very well, no phones in the rooms for emergencies, and the t.v. has poor signal. We also asked for clean towels the ones they provided we're dingy and no wash clothes, so again we requested some and were denied due to the fact that the "housekeeper has the only key". After asking to switch in the a.m. we were told to come back after 2:30 we ran late and they said they couldnt accomidate us after all. After hearing creepy noises in the middle of the night we went to ask the "guard" for a room change and he said no. again. so we packed up and we're trying to leave and he didnt want to unlock the door. After a few minutes he did and we went down the street to Avalon for $10more we had security, a nice clean room and the same view. And the chairs and umbrellas were complinmentry.

“A little lush paradise”

Really nice hotel, fairly quiet when I was there. A little bit away from the action, which is nice, but that means it takes a bit to get there from the ferry. (walking about 20 mins, or take a cab).
The hotel and surrrounding are very nicely maintained, and they have a small strip of beach area. The room was spartan, but clean, and they had a terrace in the front where you could sit in the evening and have a beer.
There are not really many food option in the immediate area, you would have to go to the resort across the street which is very nice, too. The only thing I did not care about was the breakfast, they give you vouchers to go to another beach bar, and the food is super-minimal. I only did that one morning and the rest of the time I went to a taco place and had decadent fish tacos for breakfast.
