“Good value but needs some t.l.c. and it's noisy at night.”
Madgid at Elements offered us a very good rate so that needs to be taken into consideration here. The position is very central and some elements are good - prompt response to emails and M was a very smiley host.
Unfortunately though taking lots of small details into account we felt that the place looked a bit sad and was starting to go downhill - holes in curtains, taps covered in limescale (* white vinegar will sort that), small amounts of mould at bottom of shower, upholstery worn, kitchen inventory incomplete (which was corrected as soon as we asked) and the room smelled damp on entry. Neither the jacuzzi nor the garden water feature were operating either.
For one of us the bed was too hard to sleep on too and if (according to their notice) they want to try to save energy why don't they ask rather than automatically wash all the towels daily as we find that unnecessary?
We would have put up with this but after 3 nights of loud club/bar music until around 3:30am which even with all the windows closed woke up my husband who is a very heavy sleeper we decided to curtail our stay.
With a little investment of money and attention and hopefully the authorities shutting down the bar again (according to M that happened last year), Elements would be right back up to scratch and could then be recommended.
* - We ran our own b&b and managed a consortium of ski chalets before our current business.
