“great location, great offer”

we spent there a couple of days and were very happy about the great atmosphere - Madgid is a very friendly host, helped wherever help and information was needed. The apartment is like an oasis - well equipped and very comfortable. The restaurant offers delicious breakfast as most of the things are homemade and the yoga class are great! In sum: it's a great deal, everything is on one spot. We will definitely come back to Elements of the Island!

“Good value but needs some t.l.c. and it's noisy at night.”

Madgid at Elements offered us a very good rate so that needs to be taken into consideration here. The position is very central and some elements are good - prompt response to emails and M was a very smiley host.
Unfortunately though taking lots of small details into account we felt that the place looked a bit sad and was starting to go downhill - holes in curtains, taps covered in limescale (* white vinegar will sort that), small amounts of mould at bottom of shower, upholstery worn, kitchen inventory incomplete (which was corrected as soon as we asked) and the room smelled damp on entry. Neither the jacuzzi nor the garden water feature were operating either.
For one of us the bed was too hard to sleep on too and if (according to their notice) they want to try to save energy why don't they ask rather than automatically wash all the towels daily as we find that unnecessary?
We would have put up with this but after 3 nights of loud club/bar music until around 3:30am which even with all the windows closed woke up my husband who is a very heavy sleeper we decided to curtail our stay.
With a little investment of money and attention and hopefully the authorities shutting down the bar again (according to M that happened last year), Elements would be right back up to scratch and could then be recommended.
* - We ran our own b&b and managed a consortium of ski chalets before our current business.

“Great Location”

Elements of the Island offers a great location steps to North Beach, one of my favorite beaches in the world. It offers 3 studio apartments which are well maintained and equipped. The AC works well. Wifi, not so much but there are plenty of cafes on the island where it is more interesting to sit and work. Majid the manager was very friendly, kind and accommodating. We will return for sure.

“Best breakfast on the Island”

We love Elements of the Island especially for their breakfast. The coffee is amazing and so is the homemade bread and jams. I also love the yogurt and fresh fruit. We have never stayed at in their rooms or taken advantage of the yoga classes they offer. When we come back it will be one of our first stops!

“a great European brekky”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2011

John and Monica do a great European brekky. I went back several times in the month i was staying on the island. Their homemade bread is a bit crumbly but ever so tasty. They also do a decent bircher muesli. Just take your bug cream. They've got a pretty jungly courtyard out back which means there's a few mosquitoes.
