I have been staying in the hostal already twice. The first time for Christmas 2009 and the second time in May 2011. Both times I was in a shared room. The rooms are really basic and some are kind of dark- which doesnt matter as you are normally outside during the whole day. The hostal is big and gives lot of space for relaxing such as a beach with hammocks. The food in the hostal served is also really good. Bad for Backpackers on low budget: there is no space to store your own food eg. in a frigde. Furthermore the hostal offers a lot of activities such as live-bands, yoga and bike rental so there is always something going on. The night staff is great and its a good atmosphere hanging around at the beach bar at night. Other staff members (arrival desk), havent been very friendly and helpful on both occasion. I think it were the same 2-3 girls. They did not give a really welcoming vibe and seem very bored with their work.
Except of this it is a great place to stay if you dont want to spend a lot of money. The rooms are basic, the installments and activities great!

My wife and I stayed here last year and again this year for two weeks each time. Last year we had a private room with private bathroom, this year a private room with shared bath. We had no problems either year. It's primarily college age and a bit older, but there are a fair number of older folk as well. If you need quiet, it's probably not the best choice, but unless it's raining, you can always find a place to read in relative quiet. The location is superb, and the service quite appropriate for the price. In the winter season there's no need for air conditioning--a fan is more than adequate.

Our first hostel on you trip and we'v been talking about it ever since. Really beautiful place with a lot of travellers and a nice vibe. The argentinian staff is a bit cocky and seem to have some problems with the mexican cleaners and cooks, but apart from that, The perfect hostel. It haa everything you need.

a really fun hostel, lots of other travellers, always something going on that you can choose to join or not. Food and booze prices are cheap. My only complaint would be that their wifi sucks big time, often down, really slow
