We stayed at Posada del Mar from January 22 to February 3. My sisters and brother in law stayed in the room next door (325 and 326) in the new building. Our rooms were kept spotless and the staff was very friendly. I see that some people addressed the issue of the glass wall in the shower. We just hung our beach towels over the glass partition every day to dry and the problem was solved. I'm sure the reason the wall doesn't go to the ceiling is to help reduce the humidity in the bathroom so the walls don't rot and mold. We did not have to give a credit card at check in because our room was prepaid by money order through our travel agent at Mornings in Mexico. The grounds were nice as was the pool. The restaurant served coffee in the mornings but I don't drink coffee so I don't know how it was. It also seemed to have food available at all times even when it appeared to be closed. It does not open until 9am. We have seen people eating breakfast and lunch there and saw a group getting food after 6pm. You can ask the bartenders about it.
About the bartenders, Romy and Lea, they are wonderful and helpful. We all fell in love with them. I would stay at this hotel again just because of them. We spent every evening of our stay in the Palapa bar and got to know them very well. Romy seems to work 18 hours a day most days so tip them well. Also try their strawberry margaritas, they are delicious.
The hotel is right across the street from a nice beach. We preferred that to Playa Norte because it was way less crowded.
We did have to give a $100 US deposit for the safe lock but had no problem getting it back. Checkout took about 1 minute. The beds are comfortable, our airconditioning worked great, and the maids cleaned our room spotlessly everyday. Even mopping the floors and providing towel art. They usually come by later in the mornings or afternoons while everyone is at the beach. Our hot water was plentiful in the shower.
We will be back next year.
