“A wonderful place to stay!”

My husband and I stayed at Villa Escondida for a week in November. David and Magda were the perfect hosts. Very helpful and friendly. We felt like we were staying with friends, not strangers. Magda made us a delicious breakfast every morning, including many traditional Mexican dishes. The location is perfect, just a few minutes walk from the main part of town and the port. The room was very nice. All in all a highly recommended B&B and we will definitely stay there again if we are ever back in Cozumel.

“Hidden gem”

An oasis of calm awaits through the double doors leading into the villa. The villa is centrally located, but you forget about the hustle and bustle of the streets outside the second that you cross the threshold. The courtyard garden is beautiful and relaxing, and the rooms are spot on. Magda and David are extremely welcoming without being intrusive, and are happy to offer great tips and advice. The breakfasts are amazing - never the same two days running! All in all a fantastic place to stay in Cozumel.

“Super Stay, Super Hosts”

Loved our stay in Cozumel, and our Hosts were one of the best we ever met. Ditto all other reviewers, and the pictures do not lie. Would love to come back soon...and enjoy all the great moments all over again.

Magda was amazing, so friendly and loved visiting with her, and David had good suggestions on the island. Our king room was very comfortable, especially the A/C, can't imagine a room without air!! The tropical humidity can cause a slight mustiness, but a/c helps elimate this situation. Bath was very large and clean. Coffee is excellent, and breakfast a real treat.

We appreciated not having to prepay before we arrived, and gladly paid cash once we were ready to leave. Perhaps it was our last minute (3 days in advance) reservation, but this made good business sense to us.

They also have other Cozumel properties 3 bedroom (all kingsize beds, Magda has done her market research!) mid-town apartment & 1 bed oceanfront condo, so if B&B isn't your thing, ask about these.

Learned from other US tourist, the Mega Market or Wal-Mart-like Chedraui are the best places to ATM, and/or buy anything you may need.

Our Favorite Places to Eat: La Choza (just across the street! Go for lunch special, ask David)
Del Sur (empanadas & steak) El Foco (guacamole, burritos - but saw their whole fish entree, and wish we had ordered that!) All in walking distance from Villa Escondida.

Best Drinks: Agave (on the Square, ask Magda) $5 Margarita, in different flavors. I loved the Coconut...and daughter said the Cucumber was the best she ever had! Skip Margaritaville $10 drinks...unless you just want to use their waterfront playground.

Room Tip: All four room are identical...King Bed, A/C in separate building towards back of property, parking i...

“Can't wait to go back”

A perfect home-base for a Cozumel vacation! The location is fantastic, being located very close to the main plaza and within luggage pulling distance to the ferry from Playa del Carmen. Madga and David are great hosts. I loved their authentic Mexican breakfasts which always included fresh squeezed orange juice and a generous plate of sliced fruits. The property is beautiful and the rooms are perfectly laid out and decorated in Mexico style. My sister and I stayed in the upstairs room that has two single beds, which were extremely comfortable.

“We would never stay anywhere else!!!”

Cozumel is paradise and staying at Villa Escondida only makes your trip that much better. David and Magda are unbelievable. They really go out of their way to make you feel welcome and are always around to offer advise or answer questions so you can make the most of your vacation. Honestly the beaches and snorkeling are great but it's the experience we got at this B&B that makes us want to come back. We wouldn't even consider staying any place else.
