As usual, a great time in Cozumel!
We stayed at Hotel Costa Brava, our room was on the 2nd floor. I didn't have a tape measure, but I'm guessing the room was 12-14ft square plus a small bathroom with a shower.
There was a twin and full size bed, so if you're looking for a king size bed this ain't the place. There was a table between the beds and another against the wall across the room along with a rocking chair. In the corner to the right was a large compact fridge (they are twice as big as the ones at Caribe Blu) beneath the TV, which we never turned on.
Along the wall to the right was the window A/C, some shelves, the door to the bathroom and a closet with more storage above it.
The room was always kept very clean and the ladies who kept it that way were very nice. Leave then a tip and they will make a towel design and leave it on the bed.
Everything worked just fine... I was most comfortable when I set the A/C on 6 high. And there was always hot water and good water pressure, something you can't say about every place on Cozumel. It was pretty much everything I was looking for in a budget hotel.
The owner, Elena, was very nice... if we needed anything she would see that we got it, including an excellent red wine recommendation at Chedraui and wine classes. There is also a lovely courtyard with a nice palapa where we sat and chatted with other guests while we watched some iguanas that hang out there chase each other around in their lizard turf wars.
One of the main attractions of Costa Brava is its location, basically across the street from Rock 'n Java, Hotel Barracuda and the No Name Bar. It's also within easy walking distance of the Chedraui grocery store, the LaCaletita public beach and LaPalapita beach club to the south and all the in town restaurants and shopping to the north. And at $50 plus tax a night, you'll have more souvenir and restaurant money.
I give it two thumbs up!!
