“Small hotel, clean, friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2011

This is a small family owned hotel 4 blocks from the city square, across the street from the Navy. Clean, safe, very friendly people and quite. It is no frills but each room has an airconditioner, ceiling fan, refrigerator and 1 double bed and 1 single bed. A couple of rooms have 2 double beds. About $ 55.00/night. You can relax under the palapa in a hammock or use the grill to fix your own meal. Close to restuarants and 1 block from Mega.

“bargain for divers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 December 2008

as divers, we come to cozumel 3 times a year. we had heard of this hotel on our last stay in july so we decided to try it this time. price wise this was perfect for us cause we don´t need a 5 star hotel . we can get in more diving with the money we saved. the hotel has a quaint charm, is clean and all the staff was friendly like a family should be. we were just minutes from downtown and yet right across the street from the water and our dive operation. i think budget minded travelers and divers will love this place. it sits on 2 acres of lush tropical garden, which is so quiet you can nap in a hammock. we are coming back in may keith g. texas

“Costa Brava a nice, clean place and great location.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 February 2008

As usual, a great time in Cozumel!

We stayed at Hotel Costa Brava, our room was on the 2nd floor. I didn't have a tape measure, but I'm guessing the room was 12-14ft square plus a small bathroom with a shower.

There was a twin and full size bed, so if you're looking for a king size bed this ain't the place. There was a table between the beds and another against the wall across the room along with a rocking chair. In the corner to the right was a large compact fridge (they are twice as big as the ones at Caribe Blu) beneath the TV, which we never turned on.

Along the wall to the right was the window A/C, some shelves, the door to the bathroom and a closet with more storage above it.

The room was always kept very clean and the ladies who kept it that way were very nice. Leave then a tip and they will make a towel design and leave it on the bed.

Everything worked just fine... I was most comfortable when I set the A/C on 6 high. And there was always hot water and good water pressure, something you can't say about every place on Cozumel. It was pretty much everything I was looking for in a budget hotel.

The owner, Elena, was very nice... if we needed anything she would see that we got it, including an excellent red wine recommendation at Chedraui and wine classes. There is also a lovely courtyard with a nice palapa where we sat and chatted with other guests while we watched some iguanas that hang out there chase each other around in their lizard turf wars.

One of the main attractions of Costa Brava is its location, basically across the street from Rock 'n Java, Hotel Barracuda and the No Name Bar. It's also within easy walking distance of the Chedraui grocery store, the LaCaletita public beach and LaPalapita beach club to the south and all the in town restaurants and shopping to the north. And at $50 plus tax a night, you'll have more souvenir and restaurant money.

I give it two thumbs up!!

“Clean and charming”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 March 2005

Earlier this month (March 2005) we spent one night at the Hotel Costa Brava. It is a very nice motel. The rooms, although small, were very clean. The location is great -- right across the street from the beach, and right next to Punta Langosta for great shopping and dining. There is a nice restaurant at the motel. Some of the best snorkeling we experienced was right across the street at the Hotel Baraccuda. There is an internet cafe across the street, as well as a car rental place. If you're looking for five-star "American" type accommodations, this won't be for you. But if you're looking for a nice clean place to lay your head down at night, this is a winner. And the price, at $40 per night, was right too.
