I am most impressed with this resort. The interior is well maintained the service is good and the beach amazing. I was most impressed with thier selection of food for thier buffets.Always great variety and not so abundant that you k new it would be wasted.
Tour around the island was great; and the Atlantis submarine adventure was great. I would recommend this resort

My wife, myself and our 2 children just gort back from a week in Cozumel. I can't wait to get back. The peopla at the Melia were all very nice and friendly. Upgrading to Ocean View is definatly woth the price. Service at the Café Paraíso Restaurant was excellant Enriique and Estaban were great. The rooms were nice and clean (there is a small refigerator in the room and stocked, but you have to call the front desk to remind them). The beach is very clean and not crowded. Beds were comfortable. The buffet was OK. All the bars had top shelf liquor and and the crevesas were alway cold. The Golf course was in excellant shape and challanging. We saw more crocdiles on the golf course then at the Alligator Farm. Don't chase after a ball in the water. Our apple rep Rocco gave us a great tip on Chanaknab. If you want to swim with the dolphins and get in with the manatee do the 330 show. We were the only people in the water. Definatly rent a car and experience the island. We used a company that our Apple rep uses i would not do that again (the jeep stunk and the heat was turned on and there were no knobs to turn it off). We made the best of it anyway. I would use a familiar company AVIS is there. Shopping downtown after 4 was OK as all the cruise ships have left and the prices come down somewhat. The Melia was everything we hoped for. We would defiantly come back.

Room Tip: Ocean view is worth the money

“Great Resort!!!”

We just got back from staying a week at Melia, and it was amazing! All the staff were friendly, the rooms were clean. The food was good. I was very very pleased for the price. There night life has something to be desired but we were usually so tired from a day of sun and drinks on the beach we didn't stay up late anyway. If you come to Cozumel I would suggest a couple of things, we went on the Pirate dinner Cruise ship, the entertainment was hilarious and the food was even better if you like lobster! And take a taxi to town to do some shopping, its only 5-10 min from hotel, we ate at La Mission one day when we went to town for real authentic Mexican food and it was amazing! Prices were very reasonable. Would definitely come back to Melia..maybe next year :)

“What are they talkin' about?”

Where shall I begin? Just got back Jan. 27-Feb. 3. When we decided to choose a hotel in Cozumel, 10 of us 40-60 age range. We loved the fact it was small and compact.
The front desk folk, Juan, Genny, were fast, efficient and we all got the rooms we wanted. Thanks. They were beautiful ocean front rooms, clean as a whistle, everything you need. The beach has lots of chairs, and cleaned every other day.
The swim up bar was a plus and Enrique made it a pleasure to be at everyday.
Entertainers at night were great we went to all of the shows, and the last night was exceptional. With the Mexican theme and musicians, fantastic.!!!!
The food was great lots of goodies to choose from, Cafe Parisio (exquiste). Buffet gentlemen, Victor, Christina at the grill, Elmer, Niessmo our waiters, Well done. We actually could not think of one thing wrong. Oops one thing we want BACON!!!!
We will definitely be back next year!! Thanks to all of you made our stay very pleasant. Really I don't know why there are negative reviews on this place.

Room Tip: The tower (a) has better internet service if needed.

“You need to just go see for yourself!!!”

My husband and I along with another couple spent last week at the Melia and had a great time! We were getting nervous a few weeks leading up to the trip because the resort was getting some really bad reviews. The resort and staff exceeded our expectations and I feel that a lot of the negative comments were coming from really picky people. You have to remember you get what you pay for, so if you wanted 5 star food, then go to a 5 star resort! The staff was wonderful and we did leave them a dollar here and there whether it was after eating or at the bar. It puts a smile on their face and in return the service gets even better. One thing to keep in mind is that when we are there, we are foreigners and it is polite to be able to know even the basic Spanish and I'm sure they appreciate it.

Note to self: - Bring bug spray, mosquitos come out at dusk.
- M experience beds do NOT have pillow top mattresses (like mentioned)
- If you don't like lizards, don't even go :)
- If you have an iPod station, they allow you to play it at the bar instead of listening to their music. Makes it more lively!

In the end we had a great time and met some really cool people and had no issues whatsoever!! Hope you have a great time too!

Room Tip: The M experience rooms have a fantastic view of the sea and the AC is loud enough so it can drown ou...
