We stayed at Baldwin's guest house during the second week of a 2 week stay in Cozumel. During the first week we had the pleasure of staying at the exclusive Casa Gordon villa, for a family wedding, and had been well and truly spoiled. Thus our choice of accomodation for week two had a very hard act to follow. I can say without hesitation that Baldwin's guest house did not dissapoint.

When we initially booked our stay, Dale and Kathy informed us they would be departing for a much needed vacation and that Baldwin's would have some stand-in caretakers. After reading so many great things about Dale & Kathy on Trip Adviser, I was a bit dissapointed to hear they wouldn't be there throughout our stay. However, I'm happy to report that Leo and Marleos did a great job as hosts. In fact if Leo & Marloes were able to fake a Canadian accent, we might not have noticed that Dale and Kathy had left. :)

Undoubtedly the biggest benefit of staying at Baldwin's was the introduction we received to the local community. Rather than being provided the standard tourist recommendations, Dale, Kathy, Leo and Marloes gave us their local insight on the best places to visit, eat & shop.

Rather than some overcrowded resort, we took our son snorkeling at Hotel Fontan, where we met Pepe Pierre & co. provided the most personalised SCUBA service I've ever encountered.

We purchased jewelry direct from two local jewelry makers (Crystal Sea and Sergio's Silver). Hugo and Marcela (the owners of Crystal Sea) even invited us to their home.

After becoming regulars at the beautiful Casa Mission restaurant (one block from Baldwin's) and we were introduced to the owner (who lives at the restaurant) who gave us a gift.

And because we were "living in Cozumel" our taxi rides were cheaper than those staying in hotels across from the water.

When we weren't enjoying everything on offer in Cozumel, we were relaxing in the pool or at the bar in Baldwin's, while our 2 children entertained themselves with the resident turtles, lizards and birds.

In the end there was too much on offer at Baldwin's and Cozumel. Although we came away feeling very rested, we definitely want to go back soon. Leo has already convinced us to try one of his free diving (with turtle) or spear fishing tours.

I highly recommend Baldwin's to anyone looking for comfortable accomodation with a personal touch.

My husband and I just completed our first trip to the Mayan Riviera and had a fantastic time. For the majority of our trip we stayed at an all-inclusive in Playa Del Carmen and had a nice time, but after completing our trip with a one night stay at the Baldwin's Guest House in Cozumel, we realized that we would have had an even better time if we had planned to stay at this wonderful B&B for the entire trip. We loved the incredibly clean room and the beautiful yard and the breakfast was soooo good! Dale and Kathy made us feel right at home and we enjoyed our conversations with them. When we return to the beautiful island of Cozumel, we will definately be staying with the Baldwin's again!

My husband and I and wanted two different experiences in Cozumel so we chose Baldwin's B&B for the first half of our trip and Ventanas al Mar for the second half. We loved both! (See review on Ventanas also.) Dale and Kathy were helpful from the beginning by sending an email with travel details after we booked our stay and later sent another email suggesting a tour they thought we might enjoy which we booked through them.

The house is in a what appeared to be a typical residential Cozumel neighborhood. We liked that we could get off the tourist path by staying in the city while still being comfortable in beautiful, clean, and spacious accomodations. We felt spoiled by the quality of our room and enjoyed the colorful landscaping of the backyard where we would eat breakfast and relax in the evening.

The city center was within walking distance and we felt safe walking about. Dale & Kathy provided us with a map highlighting areas of interest. They were willing to make recommendations and gave honest opinions when we asked questions about things we wanted to do.

This was our first B&B experience anywhere, and it surpassed our expectations (comfortable; delicious breakfast that was different every day; friendly people)- we enjoyed it and would return.

Another great 10 day adventure at the Baldwin's Guest House with Dale and Kathy. We have stayed at the guest house for the last 6 years. My friends ask why we keep going to Cozumel --Why Not?? There's everything to like and we know the island like the back of our hand. Had a great time with Jamey and Rhonda from North Carolina!!! Went to a boxing Match with the locals that was on HBO!! That was a blast!! But our best day was at Senor Iquana's---Happy Birthday Rhonda!! From AKA Sugar!! Dale and Kathy(the owners) are THE BEST!! We love you guys!!! Opps-I can't forget about the breakfast --Kathy is just remarkable---she'll make you anything you want and more!! From Chrissy and Brett!!!!

My daughter and I just returned from a vacation in Cozumel and a seven night stay at Baldwin's. My daughter is the one who did the research on accomodations in Cozumel and was impressed with the information she found on this highly ranked B&B in the heart of San Miguel. I was skeptical, because I have been traditionally a large hotel, all inclusive kind of person. Thanks to my stay at Baldwin's, I am now a B&B convert!
We both loved everything about our stay at Baldwin's and would never consider any other accomodations in Cozumel. The most important factors were the quality of the rooms and spectacular grounds as well as the exceptional graciousness of our hosts, Kathy and Dale.

We stayed in the Garden Room in the main house and found it to be exceptionally large and well appointed. Our windows overlooked the pretty entrance courtyard and I loved the amount of space, the beautiful hand carved bed headboard and other wood pieces. The private bathroom was lovely and spacious.

The grounds are a tropical delight, with a gorgeous blue tiled pool with a stone waterfall, an outdoor kitchen and bar area, a large gazebo and an aviary.

Our hosts Kathy and Dale were a wealth of information on all aspects of Cozumel and were always attentive and gracious. This B&B must attract really great guests (my daughter and I included LOL!) because we had a really enjoyable time interacting with everyone at breakfast and evenings at the outdoor bar area. This was one of the aspects I was worried about in staying at this type of accomodation. I like to have some alone time on the grounds without resorting to being in my room. This was no problem because of the size of this property and the fact that both guests and hosts were very respectful.

Now to talk about the breakfasts! They were amazing and varied and bountiful. Every breakfast included sliced ripe fruit, yogurt ,granola and a delectable pastry. This was then followed by various main courses including such breakfast staples as eggs, pancakes, waffles, sausages and much more. Everything is served as it is made and arrives at the table piping hot, fresh and delicious. Kathy always wanted to know what we liked to make sure we had the breakfast of our dreams. No problem there!

I loved the location of Baldwins because it is in the heart of San Miguel. It was great to have the opportunity to be living in the middle of a regular Cozumel neighborhood. We were about 5 blocks to the pedestrian mall and Plaza and about seven blocks to the waterfront. My daughter and I did not have a car the entire time and we really enjoyed our walks to the plaza, walking through various neighborhoods. We always felt completely safe even walking at night.

There is no downside to staying at Baldwins. You can't do any better. I am almost afraid to give this great review because I fear it will be hard to get a reservation for my next stay.
