“Great for Scuba Divers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

We had a very nice time at Scuba Club. The diving was good- the thing that we especially appreciated were that we were kept separated from the large dive groups. We were on a boat of either 8 or 6. There was also a conspicuous absence of less-experienced divers, which is what made us give up on ScubaDu at the Intercontinental. Aside from spotty wifi, the accommodations were perfectly fine. The food was good enough. Being in town was nice. We would be happy to stay at SCC again. Our goal for our next trip is to combine diving with an AOW course- we realized that we could have done this at SCC with ease.

“Had a Great Time!”

This was our first trip to Cozumel and Scuba Club Cozumel. We had a good, clean room with an excellent view (located on second floor, top right of web cam shot). The food was good, although we did go into town for one dinner.

Ariel was our DM and he did an excellent job as did the crew of the Reef Star. They were all very attentive to our needs and provided scenic and safe dives. My wife who is a non diver enjoyed her stay at SCC also. We will return to SCC again next year.

“Mixed fellings about the property...”

Let me first say that the Dive Masters and boat crews are top notch. I have yet to see their equal. Overall the diving is great in Cozumel but Scuba Club's location makes the trip out to some of the better sites a little long. Our boat ride to Punta Sur and Palancar was between an hour to an hour and a half. Over all the hotel is quaint and clean but the food leave a lot to be desired, and depending on what room you are in the mattresses can be rock hard (I'm not kidding). I don't expect 5 star dining but I expected more than the dry chicken I was served and the cafeteria style food that was pumped out for lunches.

Now let me be honest as a value hotel, they are good and I have been back there for 3 years in a row but now I want more. It's time to up the ante a little bit.

Room Tip: Try to get a room in the main courtyard... it's quiet enough and far enough away from the dive s...

“Food is scary - diving is great!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

The dive operation and dive masters are a 5 star act. I can't say enough praises about their experience, patience, and the operation they run. Manuel was my dive master and he was awesome. Boats were great - and fully operational. Safety was first and we had a blast diving the reefs!!

The food and front of house service was poor. At one service, I found some plastic bits in my water. At another, a person found a metal wire in their french toast - a six inch piece of twisted metal in their food. Yep. The food tasted bad, and often was overcooked. I question whether the seafood was actually fresh. I stopped eating the specials because they were hit and miss - mostly miss. It seemed like the chef likes to pair ingredients that do not have an affinity with each other. I recommend eating off the menu and keep it simple here folks.

I will say that they did have a grill out one night in the beach area. This was fabulous. When the restaurant sticks to basic stuff; they do well.

Rooms were clean and the chambermaids did their jobs. I liked that there were no phones and TVs.

Room Tip: No elevators here. Steep stairs.

“Got SCUBA?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Primo! This was my first trip to SCUBA Club and Cozumel. I can't say enough to express the excellent customer service that was provided during my stay. Safety was first and foremost, and a couple dives were called due to weather; but the staff offered additional dives later in the day/week (normally costing upwards of $100) for free. The wreck dives and dusk/night dives were awesome!!! The dive masters are very friendly, and do everything they can to ensure you have the most enjoyable experience. The food is excellent, and the atmosphere is fun. Better yet, the price can't be beat for this type of trip. I will definitely come here again and often. This dive center is now in the top two of my favorite dive operations.

Room Tip: Request a first floor room.
