“Excellent Local Atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2007

My wife and I stayed here for one month. The local atmosphere of the hotel was wonderful. Everyone from the desk clerk to the manager treated us like we were part of their family. Freindliness, caring and helpfulness came from them all. The hotel is very clean, landscaping beautiful and kept up. Pool was very clean. Restaurant food was very good. Run like a Mexican restaurant. Rooms are typical Mexican--If you go to Mexico you should expect- Mexican. We felt so at ease there. We have already made reservations to spend November and December of 2007 there. Chuck & Toni Miles. Florida

“A great stay”

My son and I stayed here in June of 06 while on a diving vacation. The hotel grounds where very clean. The rooms where very clean and had a fresh scent to them. Older a/c wall units but they performed very well. The pool was very clean and larger than most U.S. motel pools. The shower was hot enough and had plenty of water pressure. There was a coffee maker in the room and a wall mounted bottle opener. The hotel staff was very helpful and made phone calls for us when requested at no charge. The maid service was very good. When we returned to our room around 1 p.m. every day the room was thoroughly cleaned and beds where made. We asked for a refrig. in our room and they got us one. The on site restaurant was small but had an adequate menu. When you arrive at the hotel the front of the building is deceiving. It looks small. But once you pass through the lobby into the court yard you would be surprised. I likend it to an oasis. This is not a big luxurious complex but a very nice intimate place to stay with out the big prices. My wife is very fussy about where she stays and she would not have a problem staying here. I would certainly stay here again. R. H., Placerville, Ca.

“Far below average”

DO NOT STAY HERE! Location is poor, and the overall cleanliness and quality of the room were not up to standards. We only paid $57/night, but for that price you can stay at 30 other hotels that are probably nicer. Staff, pool and continental breakfast (coffee, oj and toast) were positive points.

“Cozumel Still Suffering from Wilma”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 March 2006

The Days Inn is clean and our shower was hot enough, but not great water pressure. The beds were double mattress on wooden slats and were too soft, so we put one on top of the other and that was ok; we didn't need 2 double beds. Not a good place for kids, we were two adults. We were there for Carnaval Week, and it was pretty noisy until the wee hours. Plus there were dogs in the neighborhood that woke us up in the middle of the night. The staff was receptive to calls when guests were noisy after 10 or 11 at night. The continental breakfast is coffee, juice, and toast, so don't bother, but you can get breakfast within walking distance. There is hardly any foliage on the trees, and many many buildings are still destroyed. The el centro district looks pretty good though and lots of places to eat. The snorkeling was a big disappointment, so if that's what you like to do, I would skip Cozumel altogether. The deeper reefs seemed to look better, but we don't dive. The shallow reefs were partly covered by sand. The National Nature Park was closed, their botanical garden apparently wiped out. The beach clubs were nice if you like sandy beaches with no coral or fish. Recommend getting a car if you stay in town so you can easily get to the beach clubs and the east side of the island. The Days Inn was worth 30-40 a night but don't pay more. There are lots of small hotels closer to the center of town; Days Inn was a bit of a walk late at night when you're tired for swimming all day, and parking is a problem at night, so you don't want to drive into the center. We never went into the Pool at the Days Inn, but it looked clean. The jacuzzi was not functioning. We never ate dinner at their restaurant but they were open for meals at very reasonable prices.

“Good Hotel”

Just got back from a week at the days Inn cozumel. Hotel is older, but clean. Staff is very helpful. Pool was very clean. Restaurant is under new management, food was good, but a little slow, chef has potential. Good location. Taxis available in minutes. About 4 blocks from the water, we walked to Hotel Barracuda and used their beach. Days Inn has a deal with Los Uvas about 5 miles away.
