“Absolutely stupendous”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Thank you so much to all the staff. The people in all of Yucutan, Quintano Roo and Campeche as well as in the hotel Mayaland and the Hacienda Uxmal.
The rooms are well structured, the location is the best and can be found nowhere.
Why people prefer to stay at the beach which is over populated instead of a beautiful, tranquil hotel is not comprehensible. The staff who work in the restaurants want communication and unfortunately many tourists are not very open minded which is unfortunate because after travelling more than 75 countries, I can only say, that these are very open, noble and wonderful people. Thanks to all and I hope that more people will como along in the near future and relish the great joys that are hidden in this luxurious area.

“Mayan Hideaway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

This place is luscious...tropical, delightful and full of surprises. The birds, trees, staff, flowers, pools and bungalows create a sensational setting for romance and/or families. Every care is taken to providing the best service also.
The paths meander through the manicured jungle landscaping with ease, leading to bungalows tucked away and through the trees.
Wish there was a little more sound proofing in the rooms...so ask for a end unit, and you will be happier.
And to walk right into Chichen Itza makes it even more of a find!

Room Tip: Choose an end unit in a bungalow.

“Beautiful property”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

My five year olds loved the grounds. They did not swim in the pools as it was unseasonably cool for late December, but loved running raround on the grounds. We really enjoyed being right next to Chichen Itza, especially when we beat the heat and the crowds for an early tour. We were upgraded to the bungalows on the property with hammocks in front. A/c worked well. We had some mosquitoes in the room--it is the jungle, but the nets and the fans did the trick keeping them away from us. The double beds were not the most comfortable, but fine for one night. Bathrooms were large and clean. Wish we had stayed longer. The food was reasonably priced considering the circumstances. Food quality was good. Would stay again--longer next time to explore more in the area.

“had a great time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

free drink on arrival, found the staff very friendly.Food is good at inside and outside locations.Stayed in a bungalow which was very nice but there are three in a row so if you are the end one everybody walks past you.We booked for one night but extended to two nights and really enjoyed it.Now for the minor gripes, they provide free coffee in the room but you have to pay for the water.Thats a bit much when you consider what you are paying. If you want the bellboy tell reception...problem no phone in room so you haveto walk to reception to get the bellboy. The bedroom had running water...through the roof and down the wall...luckily not over the bed.Nice storm though.Really handy for the ruins.good outways bad several times over.

Room Tip: take insect repellant, loads of mossies after rain. The bungalows are good but dont know about insiide...

“Heaven in the jungle”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

Just a beautiful stay, in what was for me, the perfect setting. The thrill of walking through the grounds and hearing the air filled with the tropical sounds of the jungle was a treat. More than adequate rooms, ours had a spacious balcony too, but to be honest very little reason to stay in there with the wonders of the Yucatan on your doorstep. Absolutely ideal for visiting Chichen Itza, the hotel has it's own entrance, a 3 or 4 minute walk from reception.

Grab a sundowner on the bar balcony, with the Chichen Itza observatory in the background, bats zipping about in the darkening sky and just enjoy... Pure atmosphere!
