“perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

Easy to find. Clean. My daughter says the fettuccini alfredo at the restaurant is the best ever. Close to the ruins - nice to be able to get to the ruins early when it was less crowded. Check in/out was easy. Pool a little chilly in December but still nice & the grounds were pretty. Open lobby was decorated for the holiday season & lots of rocking chairs around for relaxing. Surprisingly good water pressure in the shower. Highly recommend & would definately stay here again - hope we can!

“Clean & affordable rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

This hotel was very clean, and included both a tv and fridge which is always nice. The rooms were fairly updated, and pretty spacious. The location is perfect if you plan on visting Chichen Itza, its just down the road (within walking distance, but it would be a bit of a walk). Also only about 40 minute drive from Valladolid.

The only thing I really have to complain about with this hotel was the noisy mornings and awful breakfast. It seemed like every nearby person and animal was up at 5am and out in the courtyard outside of our room making all sorts of weird noises. The breakfast at the restaurant downstairs was terrible, nothing on my plate was appetizing and I ended up wasting $8 USD on nothing.

Overall, this hotel was a good value, convenient, and clean. I would stay here again.

“Hotel By The Ruins”

After looking at ruins all day, we couldn't wait to take a shower and eat some food. The staff were friendly, the room spacious and the food was average but so welcome. The pool was great, the ping-pong table a welcome addition and we had everything we needed. The room was a little noisy due to being on the road. A great place to stay if you are visiting the ruins at Chichen-Itza.

“Great place to stay in Piste!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2011

We are very glad that we stayed at this friendly hotel for two nights. Our room was spacious, nicely furnished, very clean, well maintained, and quiet. We like to read at bedtime and were delighted to find good lights, well placed to enjoy a book. We paid a little more to be on the inner courtyard with the large pool which meant there was no street noise and we had restful nights. This was our third week of travel in Mexico in a variety of hotel levels. We really appreciated "extras" such as the hair dryer, box of tissues, and plenty of towels in all sizes. But the most pleasant and enjoyable part of this fine hotel was the staff--friendly, helpful, kind people that made us feel most welcome. Emeril and Antonio assisted us with catching the local bus out to Chichen Itza and to Valladolid the next day, they answered many questions about the town, they even found time to teach us a few Mayan phrases--all with patience and good humor. Efrain saw to our comfort in the room and shared sweets with us. Luis, the manager, is perfect for his position--immediately making us feel as if we were old friends. For all these reasons we would strongly recommend this hotel to travellers. The one drawback we encountered was the breakfast which was called "American." The first morning this was not great. However, the second morning we were invited to partake of the buffet for the same price. The frijoles, eggs, and a tortilla dish were delicious as was the watermelon juice. We felt this hotel was excellent value and would happily stay there again.

Room Tip: The courtyard rooms are the quietest.

“Don't eat the lunch buffett!”

Didn't stay here. Just came for the lunch Buffett. It was overpriced and food was not good at all!
