We stayed at the Punta Cancun from 1/13/07 to 1/16/07 and loved it. The name is a little confusing because the stretch of beach where it is located is also called Punta Cancun. The complex is a brand new condo development right between the Riu Cancun and one of the Fiesta Americanas. It is beautiful! Most units had 3 bedrooms, so it was actually more economical for our group than getting seperate hotel rooms. We cooked our own breakfast and lunch every day, and ate at nice restaurants in the evening, so I am sure we saved quite a bit on dining because of the kitchen. The unit had marble floors, full, modern kitchens, and it was located on the most beautiful beach in Mexico. You can see Isla Mujeres from your balcony, and because the island is located a mile or so out in the Caribbean and breaks up a lot of the waves, the water was more calm than in other places in Cancun. If you like spa services, they have some of the best. You can have pretty much any of the services performed in your room if you prefer. The infinity pool is heated at night, and all of the clubs are a two minute walk away. We have stayed all over in Cancun, and we have always had a great experience, but I can honestly say this place was the nicest we have been to yet. I hope someone finds this review useful and decides to visit this beautiful property because of it. In any case, we took lots of pictures which I will post here soon. You might have a hard time finding one of the beautiful units available because they are often booked, and they are hard to find (they are not available on the major travel sites, and the only units I could find were listed by individual owners), but if you are really looking for a special place to stay in Cancun, it is definitely worth the effort. You might want to try looking up Real (pronounced ree-al) Management in Cancun if you are looking for an available unit. One of the owners told me that they represent most of the rentals in the deveolpment. I did not use them, so I do not know what they have available, or how good they are to work with, but they may have more selection that what you can find online.
