I just returned from the ME yesterday after traveling there with my husband and 2 friends (ages 30-38). We purchased the all inclusive package. Check in was a breeze and the rooom was ready as soon as we arrived around 3pm. All of our requests were fullfilled (rooms next to eachother, upper floor and away from the elevators). That impressed me right from the start. As others stated the hotel has a very south beach feel to it. The rooms were very clean and more spacious than a standard hotel room. The elevators can be slow at times...but you are on vacation so I guess whats the hurry. I would recommend getting a room away from the elevators as you can hear everything in the hallways, I could hear my friend blow drying her hair in the room next to me and although you dont see many kids are allowed at this hotel and they are often quite loud while walking through the hallways. I am not sure why anyone would bring kids here there is nothing for them to do at all. This is my 4th stay at an "AI" and I think they are still working some things out. You have to wear a braclet which is no big deal they are actually nice BUT you do have to sign for everything which was not really a big deal unless you were sitting at the main pool which that got annoying after about 2 drink orders. We chose to pay for beds at the adult pool for most of the week which is well worth the money, not only do you just sign one bill at the end of the day the service was amazing!! At the adult pool you dont have to get up for anything they will bring you lunch drinks, whatever you want. My husband even ordered something that was not on the menu and they got it no questions asked. This is where we met Joel and Enrique 2 of the best servers I think I have ever met. They seem to love their job and want nothing but for you to have a good time...they were simply awesome! We arrived on a Sunday and left on a Saturday and pretty much entertained ourselves each evening. The hotel is near clubs and other attractions but we thought the hotel would have some kind of nightly entertainment (a band a dj something) good thing my friend brought catchphrase to play as that is what we ended up doing most evenings. We were excited when Friday rolled around as we thought finally this should be a hopping night....nope not so much...the only thing opened was the rose bar and unless you got a seat at the bar (which is the only place people were sitting) you had to pay for a booth/table...at one night during diner we could hear loud music coming from somewhere and asked the server, it ended up being the hotel next to us so we walked over to check it out and it looked like a good time.....I just dont understand the lack of entertainment at this place...The food was great make sure to try a panini at the coffee bar :) Overall the hotel is beautiful and the service was great. Would I return, no and that mainly is due to the fact there is nothing to do at night but if you like a quiet evening in your room you will love it here!
