Stayed here mid 2011 and enjoyed the pace and quiet compared to the Cancun central Hotels,(far too noisy and busy) This hotel is about 15-20 mins from Hard Rock centre of Cancun. The hotel zone is very well serviced by local bus ($1.00) Taxi $25 ! The pool area is excellent and access to white sandy beach directly from rere of hotel . Food was excellent as was the staff. It's a quirky hotel that's well away from the centre. I was a little dissappointed with Cancun itself , it's devided by a busy main road and everybody wants to be your best friend (selling you something) ! !

Room Tip: Don't think there is any BAD rooms , front overlooks the lagoon , rere overlooks pool/sea.

“Problems with Reservations”

I am very disappointed I will not be staying here but their reservation system is flawed. Booked over a month ago, never got a confirmation email, called to get one and they didn't have my reservation in their system. My friend booked a room through their online system as well and they had the same problem. When traveling out of country I want to feel secure in my reservations so this was a problem. I ended up calling them, they were going to offer me a different rate, even though it was cheaper on their website. I had to send them a screen shot of my computer to prove the lower price. Once I did this over email they were going to re-book the room. At this point I was annoyed and didn't not feel confident with their system so I booked another hotel. I decided I wanted to be closer to the action anyway.
So if you book here double check they have your reservation.

was worried a bit after a couple of reviews, but absolutely no regrets...quality price excellent. Took all inclusive... clean, great staff, great food beautiful view...Yes older hotel but very well kept....Bigger not always better..very personalized approach... food is a la carte so you choose what you want, breakfeast had both buffet and a la carte,,,lunch as well as menu had a special of day as well...great lounge chairs by the pool and on beach...very relaxing as stated no kids under 12 did not even see much of them...took their relaxing massage and was excellent.. kathleen and vincent from laval-montreal quebec canada....

Room Tip: ocean view fantastic...lagoon view on the side of street but also where the sun sets so also nice

Like most of you I also read the reviews on this hotel both good and bad. I must admit I was scared to go after reading the things people wrote about this place. I can tell you that after getting back yesterday both my wife and I wish we were still there. We booked the All-Inclusive plan for 7 days and loved every minute of it. Yes the tips are not included but whats a couple bucks after a meal?
We had no proplems with the food it was the best that we have ever had at an All-Inclusive. We've travelled alot and always stay an a 5 star. The food here was better than any buffet anytime. You could actually order off different menus for all your meals so everything was hot and fresh.
The beach and water were amazing so warm and clear. The loungers were comfy and the best we've ever had. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly and trust me they work very hard to make sure your satisfied.
The drinks were not watered down, as I seen first hand when they had to open new bottles that were factory sealed and the drinks tasted the same.

To the people who complained about everything, stay HOME or get off your wallet and spend the money to go stay at a real 5 star. Ya the hotel is a little older, but the food, and service make up for it. They are constantly cleaning everything, all day long.
The people who are high end and expect everyone to do everything for them write these terrible reviews. And no, hotel staff do not write the reviews for people this is an average person writing a honest review. Signing for each drink is not a problem like many of the reviews said. Every day my wife and I sat out by the pool all day and had drinks. We never had any problems getting service and only had to sign at the end of the day. People need to understand that there are a lot of people on some days around the pool and on the beach and the staff literally run to serve people so if they dont get to you after your drink is done and you want another get off your butt and go get one its not that big of a deal. If your expecting everything to be perfect just stay home as nothing in life is perfect. Our AC never worked real good all week but who cares your on holidays with hot sun.
Between 5-6:00 everyday there is a beautiful sunset that you can watch from the 6th flr. They bring up campaign and treats, it's very nice and romantic.
It's definately a place to check out if you want to just relax. There is no kids running around yelling and screaming. The only down part is that there is no night entertainment, so you have to go downtown, which we didn't mind cause we were there just to relax. A great place to relax.

Great hotel, Food excellent (don't get the nachos - cheese glop vs real cheese) room was ocean front. Very comfortable and extremely clean!! Open air lobby and bar are great. Staff very helpful and friendly. Right on the bus line. Great pool area. they have beach lunch and drink service (sometimes a little slow) My only complaint with this hotel is they played teen club music at the pool very loud. same music every day, could hear the music on the beach with my head phones on. after several complaints music was eventually turned down. The seafood rest. (Jo Captain) across the road had the best surf & turf i've ever had. overall great place.

Room Tip: some ocean front rooms have larger balconies than others.
