I visted this hotel back in March with my adult daughter. This was my fourth trip to the Yucatan. For some the hotel location would not be great, but for us the location was ideal. The hotel is what I would consider the end of the strip. The ferry over to the island was just a short walk across the bridge so to could go to Isle Murjeles daily if you liked. I loved the island. The beach area is perfect if you had small children as it never got deep behond the waste unless you ventured to the left of the hotel towards the lagoon type area where the locals hung out and fished (below the bridge). The Piarates dinner cruise ship docked just to the left of the hotel as well if that was something that interested you. We stayed in the secondary building (not pyramid) I have to admit the room was very quite. It was a clean and very simple room that could have used new furnishings, but for the price was not a big deal as we really only slept in the room. Bathroom was small with just a shower and the hotel charged extra for a lock for the safe and wireless internet. Our room had a view of the ocean and pirates ships... no balcony. Maid service was great, can't complain about that.

The buffet was fine, always found something to eat and the waiters where always attentive to us, maybe because we are happy, polite and always tip. We ate at the Seafood/ocean front restaurant and I really enjoyed that. Would have gone back everynight. Also ate at the Asian. It was "OKAY" for dinner, but at lunch time is was a sushi restaurant and I liked that a lot better.
To the best of my knowledge there was not drink service at the beach or the pool area, or at least not that we where offered.
There are motorized water sports directly in front of the hotel, but this is additional.
Only watched the night time entertainment one night, but have to admit that it was very good. We have been to several reosrts around the world and this was one of the better shows that I have seen.
Found the porters and gentleman at the entrance of the hotel very friendly and willing to offer suggestions on how to cheaply get to different locations.
There was a kid's club, well hidden from the rest of the resort. We do not have small children any more, but from what I saw the kids club looked nice with water slide/park located ina shady back area of the property.More
