“Clean, Friendly, Cheap”

Our flight brought us to Cancun too late to take the ferry to isla Mujeres where we spent the remainder of our holiday. I looked for a reasonably priced hotel near Puerto Juarez and found Terracaribe. The price was so good I was a bit uneasy as to what we'd find. We found a very friendly front desk hostess, Veronica. Our room was very basic but clean as a whistle. The bathroom was sparkling and new. Only complaint was that the hot water in the shower became so hot and was hard to turn off - my husband got a bit burned (not serious). The courtyard and pool were also nice and clean. The neighborhood may not be ritzy but we felt safe and secure in the hotel and because of the interior courtyard set up did not have any noise issues. We would definitely stay here again if we needed a stopover. Cannot beat the price for the value!

“Clean cheap hotel.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

This hotel is clean and well kept, unfortunately it is not is the best location for Cancun (far from the beach/tourist area). The Wifi only worked for us in the main area. The room was clean and quiet and the pool and roof top patio were great.

“Clean room and great value for money”

We stayed here 8 nights and had a great time. The room was clean and we enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi very much. It's perfect for anybody who wants to experience a little bit of the real mexico. The surrounding area seemed safe and we walked and took the local bus everywhere. We would certainly stay here again.

“Location, location, location”

We booked this for just one night based on the reviews and cost. We arrived and the room looked fine but the location is not good. Our car rental guy had told us not to walk the wrong way if we left the hotel and we could see why. The area is very run down and there is nothing nearby to walk to so getting food and drink involves driving. We did ask at reception if we could walk to a bar or restaurant and were told there was nothing around. As this was our first night in Mexico we wanted to not worry about driving so we decided to cut our losses and find another hotel actually near something. We still stayed downtown and not far from some small bars and resturants at a much nicer hotel for not much more money. If you are like us and prefer to avoid the hassle of driving or taxis etc in the evening then don't book this one.

“Great prices, friendly staff”

This hotel was spacious and clean. We had a double with an additional living room, which was great for our kids. The bathrooms were really nice and the pool has a shallow area at one area. There is a nice breezy patio in the center of the hotel where you can have food & drinks served, as well as in the restaurant. There is wifi in the rooms though it is strongest in the central patio. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The shuttle to the beach wasn't in operation when we were there, but it was an easy R1 bus ride there. (8.50 pesos, the driver will give you change). The beach club is right next to the CocoBongo and wasn't the best atmosphere for kids (but good for younger adults). There is public beach access right next to the club, it just costs 5 pesos to use the bathroom and a little more to use the outdoor shower.
