“the worst budget hotel ever”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2011

I like budget travel when appropriate, like in case when all I need is a good night sleep before my plane early in the morning.

This is a hotel from hell, I kid you not. Sound isolation is non existent, the whole hotel is roaring like a jet engine from AC noise, constant door slamming and loud voices from the cavernous halls. The courtyard has parking space for your rental car, if you don't mind the cans of rotting garbage.

With so many choices of nice and slightly more expensive hotels why did I choose this one?

“Good budget option in Cancún”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 August 2010

I stayed at Soberanis hotel with my two children, aged 18 and 20 by then. It was a great choice! It was inexpensive and well located right off intersection of Coba and Tulum Avenues. It was not easy for us to find the hotel because the taxi driver didn’t know how to get to it, in spite of the fact that the address I had downloaded from the internet was clear and complete.
On our arrival at the hotel, we had a problem as the reservation at the hotel had a booking for two people and we were three. The person at the front desk was rather upset and rude. I refused to pay extra as I did have the confirmation provided by the hotel (a reservation for three people) printed. After that minor issue, we had a good time at the hotel. There are some Oxxo and Seven Eleven stores near the hotel, open 24/7. A big supermarket is right next to the hotel too.
Breakfast is included in the price, but it is basic, or perhaps –rather poor I would say! The room was well sized, and it included 2 bottled water, ice bucket, shampoo and soap. Sheets and towels were clean. The air conditioning worked properly. The hotel has no elevator (we were on the 3rd floor).
The staff was polite, with the exception of the man I met on arrival (mentioned before). The price also includes free internet for half an hour every day. It is easy to get to the hotel zone by bus from this hotel as the bus stop is only a few meters away from Soberanis.
Note: The hotel is advertised as a hotel/hostel. In fact, it is a hotel, not a hostel (at least the part where we stayed).

“good budget hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 June 2010

I stayed Soberanis hotel with my wife. This is a budget hotel and it's very good deal ($31USD per night). The hotel itself is old but the room is clean. The A/C in my room made a noise but it's not a big problem for us. The hotel location is good. A big supermarket is right next to the hotel. ADO bus terminal is walking distance, and there are bunch of restaurants around the hotel (I took ADO bus from Cancun airport to the downtow, and waked to the hotel).

If you need a hotel just for sleeping, this is a good choice. If you need more than sleep, probably you should avoid this hotel.

“Stay away form this horrible dirty place got flees”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 March 2010

This place surely is not hotel. It is located on the worst part of town; Traffic is horrible the free parking means you leave your car on a dumpster full with homeless. At night it’s very dangerous. I took photos I going to upload them. No hot water at all, water pressure is zero. The rooms have bedbugs and flee in them. The thing they call AC is at least 50 years old and newer works.
The TV has horrible picture quality and they can’t fix it.
At night the place gets unbelievable noisy.
I would recommend it to my worst enemy

“Good location and good value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2010

Clean room to a reasonable price. A non fancy breakfast is included in the price. The shower was not great, bad water pressure and not really hot water.
