“Feels like Heaven”

Hello everybody,
We just got back from our trip to Cancun,Moon Palace,and i want to tell you that the only thing for which we can't call this trip "perfect" was the airline(AIRFRANCE) who decided to go on strike exactly on the day that we had to come back.Anyway,regarding the hotel i only have great things to say;it's my second time here and i love it even more.We were a large group(12 adults and 1 child) and we all were impressed:the grounds are well kept,large pools,lots of restaurants and bars,the staff is verry helpfull and smiling,the bar in the room is always full,lots of food choise from various restaurants.I want to say that all the people from my group travelled a lot in Europe,Asia,Dubai,Dominican Republic,and here we felt like what we got, regarding the money spent,was by far the best deal.

Room Tip: choose a room at a superior floor

“Wish we never had to leave!”

We loved it so much last year, that we had to visit again! Every employee there is top notch and they're what makes this resort so enjoyable! They truly wait on you hand and foot, and we couldn't have asked for more! We'd like to give special credit to the staff at Palapa
Defines: Angel & Rocio who were prepared to make us a dinner outside, but because of rain, quickly adapted and served us an elegant and delicious dinner indoors. We also were served a special dinner (upon request) at Coporales. We had an awesome time and magnificent Mexican food which was served to us by Fernando & Melecio! Ole! I would highly recommend this resort for anyone longing for relaxing days and fun-filled evenings!

“The good doesn't outweigh the bad”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

The good:

* Golf course is better than expected
* Waitstaff at several restaurants are very attentive
* Location relative to airport (10 minutes) makes getting there easy
* Awesome showers
* Rooms are fairly nice
* Housekeeping staff is terrific
* Breakfast offerings are solid
* Some real nice 'extras' like special delivery desserts

The bad:
* Front desk staff are clueless - lots of 'sure, I'll take care of it' and then nothing
* Check in procedures everywhere are cumbersome and slow
* Signage is terrible
* Transportation between facilities is poor - vans to the golf course only carry 8 people
* Beverage carts on the course have virtually nothing on them
* Food is mediocre to very poor
* Internet service in the rooms is virtually unusable
* TV choices stink
* Beach is weak - dead flat and not real pretty
* Place is full of drunkards - seems the #1 activity is getting hammered and acting stupid
* Breakfast doesn't open til 7am - early risers are screwed
* Place is not real pretty - entrance to Grande seems almost an afterthought
* Room service is weak... example - ordered cereal but came with no milk
* If you don't have a dinner reservation or get there before 6pm, be prepared to wait an hour
* Golf operation is a free-for-all
* No range balls - they literally had to run out and pick it every time we were there to give us balls

Bottom line? You get what you pay for. If you're looking for an inexpensive vacation and don't have high expectations, the place is probably good for you. If you've had a chance to visit other resorts in the Caribbean or Mexico, chances are this place is a one and done as there are too many other places that offer a better experience.

“1st All-Inclusive, great family vacation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

We spent 7 nights, it was our first real family vacation (kids, 11 and 8 yo). We all had a great time. We reserve a family deluxe at the Sunrise, which are 2 rooms with an adjoining door. Both rooms have jacuzzi's, but we never used them, they are huge and take a lot of room. We had problems during check-in, I had requested room on the 3rd floor and I was told no problem, then when we get to the room it was on the ground floor, this was upsetting and I went back to demanded an explanation to why I was deceived. They apologized and were only able to give us 2nd floor rooms. We also had some inconvenience with the maid service, it seems we had to tell them just about everyday to make our rooms, I am not sure it our rooms were on the daily cleaning sheets. When they cleaned it was done very good. These are my only gripes. The staff were excellent and very professional, everyone greeted you and always smiling. The staff was very attentive at all times. The resort was not busy, it was nice to go to the restaurants and not wait in a line. The weather was OK, there were days with rain and thunderstorms, we made the best of it. The resort is very beautiful and clean, the pools are is huge (Sunset), we enjoyed the time we spent there. The beach is not so clean, but still could have fun there, there is a sand bar at the Sunset side that is about 60 yards out that is really nice and beautiful, I took the kids there and they had a blast, the water is about 2 feet deep at the sand bar. The food was plentiful, they quality was pretty good, the drinks we made a little weak but the beer was always cold. The Nizuc side is really nice and has a little of a different atmosphere, tends to be for more adult and older children. All in all, we all had a great time and can't wait to go back, I recommend the Moon Palace for families.
