“EXCELLENT HOTEL”

We have just come back from a 2 week holiday at this resort.....The hotel is great, the staff are all amazing and the food was excellent....DO NOT TAKE ANY NOTICE OF THE BAD REVIEWS from the loud mouths that go there all they do is complain and there really is nothing to complain about....

The hotel is spotless
The restaurants are all very good especially Wayne's Boots & The French Restaurant.
The Buffet Restaurant has so much to choose from I do not know why people say they get bored with the choice.
The staff there are all excellent and can not do enough for you.
All drinks are branded and you do not have to pay for a thing unlike some other all inclusive resorts.

All in All we have no faults with this hotel at all..

The only one thing that was disappointing was the weather and that cannot be controlled

THank you very much Crowne Paradise for a wonderful stay would definately recommend

Just got back from a 2-week stay at this resort. Very nice place and very nice people. Food was very good and the a la carte restaurants were good also but the service could have been better. It's a great family resort with lots of things to do for the kids. I would definetely go back.

Room Tip: The first floor had some water damage so ask for a room higher up. I was on the 7th floor and the v...

“Won't return.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

We stayed here for one week from January 21 - 28. The hotel is dated and has a lot of deferred maintenance issues. The hotel seems understaffed. We will not return to this property and I will summarize the good and the bad below:

The good:

The kids club and baby club is very good however the staff work very long days. For example, we took our 2 year old to the baby club at 9am for some family time. We arranged to leave our 2 year old in the evening for a couple hours to go to the French restaurant. The same staff member was working the late shift . . . till 9:45 pm. You could tell she was exhausted and I felt bad for her. The staff here are awesome!

The kids club is a lot of fun for the bigger kids. My daughter always wanted to stay longer. The staff here is awesome!

French restaurant: The meal was excellent and the service was excellent.

The adult pool: very nice and quiet, however the deck made me nervous to walk on . . .seems rather squishy and in need of maintenance/replacement! I walked along the concrete pool deck where I could. The staff up here are excellent!

The disappointing:

Room: We upgraded to the Family 5 suite which had a fridge in it (unstocked) but the room was rather dated, although I was told it was three years old. The bathroom was updated. Adjoining room and we had noisy neighbors. I asked to see another Family 5 room, but it was just the same.

Safe: Upon check in they give you a locking mechanism to put in the safe to get it to work, however the one we got got stuck in the safe as it was too big for the hole. We called maintenance, and were told we needed to wait for him to come. 45 minutes later and no maintenance guy, so we left to enjoy our day. This meant we had to lug our valuables with us, because we didn't feel safe leaving them in the room. Went to the conciege desk, to request them to fix it again, and they gave us a smaller locking mechanism (makes me think this thing happens all the time) Called maintenance again to have them come when we were getting cleaned up for dinner, and again no maintenence guy came, so we went for our meal. My thought was this was the hotels problem, and not ours (although frustrating) so why should I spend my vacation waiting for them to come fix it?? We finally got maintanence to come after being there for a day and a half. The smaller locking mechanism worked just fine.

Air Conditioning:
The hotel has problems with their air conditioning. We could never get the room below 23 C the whole time we were there, which wasn't too bad but our friends had to switch rooms as theirs was at 25 C.

Housekeeping: This again relates to being understaffed. We would leave the room by 9am leaving the clean room sign. Our two year old needed a nap in the afternoon, and all but two days the room still hadn't been made up by 1 pm. I couldn't have them in while my 2 year old slept so we had the room cleaned a total of 3 days of 7. I called to get fresh towels when needed and put the garbage outside the door.

My husband and 10 year old both had stomach issues at this resort. My husband was sick with these issues for 4 of 7 days. Not sure if it was the food or water, or if it was a stomach flu but we have traveled extensively and this hasn't happened before. We are not a family that gets stomach flu regularly (my 10 year old has had the stomach flu 3 times in life) and haven't had this issue before. We are not heavy drinkers either, so it wasn't a case of to much alcohol.

Wifi is very expensive here: $75 for the whole week. We run a business so we needed it but the code is good for one device. You are paying that kind of money, you should be able to use it on more than one device in my opinion.

Wayne's Boots: Hubby had a good time on the mechanical bull, but the restaurant was so hot (air conditioning broken) we rushed our meal. The steaks were tough. Not good at all!

Service: We always tip, but we didn't feel that the overall service at the resort was where it should be. They are just understaffed and overworked. The server was sweating he was running so hard.

Overall, we are a family that rolls with the punches and can have a good time wherever we go . I hate to complain, and we can overlook things if we are getting good value, but I was nt impressed with this resort. It might be a good price, but in my mind its not a good value. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere!

“Great place for families - out off season”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

Just glad we went out of season! Despite it being during term time, I was amazed by the number of children.

Food was great on the whole, although it was a bit of a pain having to book the speciality restaurants, especially as most were not full - with it being out of season. The Italian restaurant was awful - pizza looked (and tasted) like it had come from Iceland. (They do a great pizza in the Buffet restaurant) French was great.

The room was large enough, beds were firm and the maid service was good. We had faulty sockets, TV was not working (we had one rainy day) and despite being promised that someone would come straight away - they didn't. They also never fixed the very noisy air con which was temperamental to say the least. My phone also wouldn't charge - despite buying a new adapter

Great place to stay off season with children. I imagine the queues for food could be even longer when the hotel is full.

The service was great - very friendly bar staff.

The location is great - being right on the beach but its a long way from town, taxis are expensive although the buses are cheap and regular. The adults only pool was a godsend.

Room Tip: Upgrade if you can
