I stayed there in 2004 for one day and moved on the next morning. This place has so many beds crammed into the dormatory rooms you feel like a bunch of sardines in a can!. One might not mind the beds pushed right up against each-other if it was at least co-ed in the dorms, but as a guy I can honestly say that I don't want to be stuck sleeping between two guys that are so close that they could literally roll over into your bunk!
There are better places to stay that don't make you feel like all the owner cares about is stacking as many people in a room as possible to make an extra dollar.
Save yourself the hassle of moving the next day and go straight to ANY other hostel in Cancun. There are plenty to choose from and I have tried 4 others over the years. Anything is better than the Mexico Hostel in Cancun!
