“Okay-ish”

Not quite terrible, but not good either.

Pros: The service was fantastic. All the staff was courteous, accommodating, and did their best to let my practice my terrible Spanish. The lunch and dinner menus at the restaurant are great (as is the service), but I'd advise you to skip the breakfast: Great staff, once again, but the food (except for the eggs and fruit - it's hard to screw up fruit) was terrible. The beach and pool are nice and well-kept.

Cons: It's really not worth the money. Our room had hard beds that my feet hung off of all night. There were hooks for a hammock on our balcony, but it had cheap plastic chairs instead. Our room as also a balmy 13C when we arrived.

Bottom line: Kin Ha would get a better review if it cost half as much as it does. I know Cancun isn't cheap, but there's better to be had for less.

A note to LGBT travellers: The staff at Kin Ha was perfectly accommodating to my husband and me.

“Amazing stay in Cancun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

This hotel in wonderful, it is right in front of the beach, which is beautiful, I think it has the best beach out of most of the hotels in Cancun.
I purchased the All inclusive package, which has a 25% discount for this whole year (2012), so a standard room for 2 plus 3 meals (all you can eat) plus national drinks all for 123$ what a bargain!
The food is great, is not like in most of the hotels where you get a buffet, here you order a la carte, so all the food is fresh and hot, I hate buffets because usually the food is cold and it isn't fresh, so here I didn't have that problem. The quality of the food is really high, the service could be a bit slow if there is a lot of people, but nothing to worry too much about. A personal recommendation, try the coconut shrimps, they are to die for.
It is close by to CocoBongo (a must see if you ask me), Hard Rock Cafe, Daddy O, Congo and a lot of fun places, it takes about 15 min walking to get there.
Staff is super friendly, if they have rooms available they would let you do an early check in.
The pool is ok, but quite frankly having such a beautiful beach so close by, you basically won't feel the need to use the pool.
The hotel also has lots of chairs and umbrellas on the beach, plus a volleyball net and a beach football court so you can enjoy your day.
This hotel has everything you need to have a fun and a relaxing vacation on Cancun, I highly recommend it.

“Great couple of days”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

I stayed at this property around 20 years ago and was amazed that is is still there and virtually unchanged. I was staying in Cancun for only a couple of days while waiting to collect a friend at the airport and head to Merida. This property is absoulutely immaculate. It is on a large piece of land that is still so beautiful and never feels crowded. Most other hotels have changed to high density occupancy and have lost any sense of nature or beauty.
If your interest are resort hotels with an overabundance of fabricated scenery and experiences then this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a simple, clean and beautiful place next to an incredible beach at a very very affordable rate, here it is.

Room Tip: Beachview is necessary. Very roomy balcony perfect for a Yucatecan hammock.

“ok stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

Booked on their website, got a great deal. Friendly staff. When we checked in we were told there were only rooms available on the first floor. The hotel was pretty empty so this was probably what they say when people book and get a good deal (was offered a suite for $40 extra, not worth it in my opinion, especially b/c we were only staying one night). The room was simple but clean. The door to the patio had several locks so I felt safe. There is a safe in the room also.
The beds were VERY hard (regular rooms only have double beds, no kings). The bathroom was small, temp in the shower is nice and hot. The a/c was great. Lighting in the sink area and bedroom wasn't so great, especially at night when you don't have the option for extra light from the sun.
Pool area is nice, beach area is beautiful, not crowded at all. There was a nice little bar/restaurant on the beach. Good prices.
Location is in a quiet area. The location is easy to get downtown. Took the bus (15 min. or so) which you get right outside the hotel. Airport was about 20+ min. or so. Good location to (party/clubs) area, around 15 min. walk with lots of shops/market along the way.
Went to the spa for a 25 min. neck/head/shoulder massage, very nice for around $34 usd and got a nail polish change for about $8usd, good job but no nail dryer.
Overall fine for a 1 night stay but I will not be returning (mostly due to the hard beds and I think I would want a hotel closer to the action next time).
