It's not a big resort, so the service is far more personal. It's a little bit older and smaller so the feeling of it is much more genuinely Mexican than American, and that's what we wanted. The beach is nice and clean, it's a good size for the amount of people who stay at the hotel during the day, it's very quiet and relaxing! Lots of places to lounge and suntan or read in the shade :)
The service was impeccable! We never waited more than a minute or two for our drinks, and we were treated very kindly by the staff and enjoyed their ability to tease us and remember what we liked! The staff at the concierge desk was above reproach as well! We had some issues with a tour we'd booked online before getting to Mexico and when that company failed to pick us up Karla was there to call the company for us and guide us through the stressful experience with good humor and knowledge! The next day when we were picked up by the tour company, Eddie came over to make sure we were being treated well and wouldn't be given any trouble after the previous day's experience.
Without those two our time in Mexico may have ended up being far less enjoyable!
The food was DELICIOUS - the buffet was a little bit different every day, and both fancy restaurant experiences were wonderful! The Garlic Toast in the Italian Corner is something EVERYONE should try - and the Beef Steak in the Frida Restaurant was the best steak I've ever had!
I could gush more, but I won't :) Suffice it to say I loved this hotel and would DEFINITELY return! I've already booked my parents a stay here and they're looking forward to their stay!
PS: My only "complaint" was how hard the beds were :P But I hear that's the norm in Mexico, no matter where you stay.
