I have found my self in some situations but this place was a real shocker it looks amazing in the brochures and hideous when your there believe all the negative things people have said on here anyone posting anything positive on here must either own the hotel or have been high on crack cocaine for there stay. stay at the best western clipper club it is about the same price better location you can see your feet when you stand in the pool and the air conditioning
doesn't sound like a bag of hammers

“Open Bar Dudes!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 April 2006

The Cacun Marina Club was a great hotel. The rooms were clean and air conditioned. Thats about all that we wanted out of the hotel since it was mainly a place to sleep. The bartenders were great. They gave us complimentary drinks and advice on places to see. The hotel was fairly laid back since they didn't even charge me for a table I fell through and destroyed when I was "intoxicated". The food was also good if you choose to eat there. Its much better than the chaff served at Fat Tuesdays.

Events include classic like random rave parties and tequila volleyball. Open bar is available for $10 a day. Watch out, thats a double edged sword.

The staff was very friendly and we had no problems with them. This was much better than any Hilton, mostly because we probably would have been booted out of the Hilton.

The Marina Club is exquisite, don't let a couple people to lack discipline and write negative reviews deter you.

“Watch Out”

Watch Out! I went to Cancun for Spring Break so i just needed a place to sleep inbetween parties. That is exactly what it was. We were originaly booked into rooms that had not been cleaned and standing water on the floor. There was a security guard that would walk into our rooms while we were sleeping and would follow aroung the girls in our group. They did not want to give our deposit back at the end of the trip. Certain lights, water, air conditioners would not work.

“You get what you pay for”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2005

The hotel was not the Hilton. That is not an American hotel, this is a cheap Mexican hotel. It was a cheap, bottom of the line hotel. The toilet did overflow, but there was clearly a sign posted that said to not put toilet tissue in the toilet because of the plumbing. The room was small, but what do you expect for a cheap price, this is what you get at Motel 6, Red Roof and all the other bargain basement places out there. If you want luxury, stay at a luxury hotel.

The pool, food and hotel staff were great. Whenever I stay at a hotel I get a safe deposit box, which the Cancun Marina Club provides free of charge. We kept the key. So nothing was stolen. You only get one key for the room, but if you use your head you can make it work, leave the key at the front desk.

Cancun is a beautiful place and I had the time of my life. There is a shuttle that cost 50 cents that lets you off directly in front of the hotel. Nothing is more that 10-15 minutes away. We had the best of Cancun because we went with a Travel Company that gave us access to all of the hotels, clubs and restaurants. We all had a great time.

I probably will not stay there again, but if you are on a budget, you will be fine. Enjoy what Cancun has to offer.

“what an absolute dive”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2005

I have never seen a place like this in my life, what a dump. The air con doesnt exist despite the website saying it does, along with the toiliet seat. The cleaner stole my trainers. The windows dont actually shut - great if you want to come home with nothin -. The door chain can be opened by a 3 year old kid and is basically made of paper nb we had to barricade our door with the table and luggage holder. The shower floor feels like an earthquake the fact that i nearly fell through was fun and dont even think you gonna get clean from the muddy cold water. The matress protectors had all sorts of stains and there were no sheets, but i dont wanna bring back memories of that. The staff were as helpful as a brick wall and not only did they not speak english they couldnt understand spanish either, who knows what they spoke. The breakfast consisted of brown melon and a can of cherryade, and an interesting stew that appeared as though the chef had brougt it up after a night on the town. Dont even think about using the jacuzzis unless you wanna catch something, they consist of ash, leaves and mud, no water, starnge you may think for a jaccuzi. Make sure you take a visit to the reception toiliet, a nose peg will be required and it is unusable because the slightest little bit more liquid would over flow all kinds of mess. Nice. But despite all this we did make some close friends with the cockroaches and insects that slept with us, and two of the noisiest yet slowest fans in the world
